Just to have one !
I bought this because I thought it looked older and I like the metal work/design of the blade. I noticed the edge on it after I hit the Buy Now button and wondering what I am seeing. It kinda looks like the bevel does not match the ridge of the back at all. More like a knife than a razor. It looks like it was designed this way. I wanted an old project razor and I think I got a good one to start with. Or did I bite off more than I can hone.

The poor thing has been honed poorly, it will make a great project razor, you are going to learn a lot! LOL
Dont take my humor to heart it can be done and you can do it. The biggest thing is that the blade has lost proper geometry, honing it will take some skill.

Well I look at it this way... I bought a piece of Damascus to learn with and this is more than half way there. :<0)
Oh and I paid 26.00 for each so I am not too far in the hole. What does a text book cost these days a hundred or so ? It may not look anything like it once did when I get done with it but I am bound determined to make it work.

My guess is that they ground the edge by having the spine lifted quite a large amount. In order to correct this you are going to be a grinding/honing man for a long while to come. OR..
use inspiration from other styles of razors, and create a frame for the spine, that will raise up its angle. You will probably still have lots and lots of work ahead of you, but it may be a viable option.
