Was my $40 well spent?

On the Tangs they say:
Wm Greaves & Sons

Real Red Point

$20 for the five on the right and the stone and another $20 for the Real Red Point and the J R Borowski.

Any time I can get an intact razor for less than $10 it's a good deal for sure. The Wade and Butcher and the one on the bottom look like they can be made shave ready with only little work. The rest have some minor and major issues such as chips, frowning and severe hone wear. But I think most of them can shave with some elbow grease.

Looks to me like they could all be salvaged. I like the look of the Greaves you have there.

I like it also... TO BAD it has a BIG piece missing...
Could be worse, it could have been in the CENTER of the blade!

The w&b is the third razor in the second pic. I agree they look like they can be made into shavers. Probably will have to send the greaves out to be made into a shorty razor.

My mistake, I didn't look closely enough and thought the Greaves stamp was a Wade and Butcher stamp.

The third from the top (can't read the manufacturer on the tang; is that the Wade & Butcher?) looks like it has a lot of potential. Soak those scales in some neatsfoot oil for a few days. You can pick up a bottle at most hardware stores, like Ace. It will bring them back to life along with a little high grit sanding and polishing. The blade looks like it should clean up really well. That little chip on the bevel should hone out with little effort. Good luck!

Thanks guys. I probably will get to at least practice restoring and using a hone on these. Won't hurt to try some stuff out.

It says Wm Greaves & Sons on the tang. UNFORTUNATELY the other side scale is warped and cracked a little. I do like to looks of that one also!

I my opinion, they are all somewhat salvageable. A couple are well able to repay your costs! Have fun!

If you are asking about what you spent.... you made that up in the vintage scales alone IMHO,
and got a few great fixer uppers and potentially great shavers to boot.
