antler brushes done ..

started out with these at the start of last month !!

then i gut out to try to use the straightest pieces ... then drilled them out , and coated them inside and out with a polyurethane satin finish to help seal and preserve ..

i tried to keep the holes centeredt as to stand the brushes upright and to the curve of the antler and not as much as center of the antler itself ...
while carrying them to the garage i dropped one and chipped it so had to make another quick one today before i could glue ...
knots are
1)black badger (22mm)
2)short loft fan Super Badger (20mm)
2) bulb Silver Tip badger ..(20mm)
(order of numbers inis in the last pic ) this next pic is layed out , but i switched things around after i had to remake another one ..

and this is the final result ... i beveled the edges so the knots would sink in just a tad bit more , i originally had the bulg in the handle the fan is in but after i made another short handle to replace the broke one i switched them cause i thought they looked better ... so what ya think ???

thanks .. yes i made the kill , i think i may engrave a date or something on the bottom of them or something , idk yet .. im thinking ill set one aside with the NOS Gillette Tech i have and pick out a nice straight and make a gift basket for my oldest boy when he starts shaving ...

nope . not this one ...lol.. notice the metal tag from the check station is still on the rack ;)

but i did find one on the way to the mail box a few years ago , they like to eat the corn i used to put out for the ducks/ squirrels ...lol
