Restored Cattaraugus
Aloha, just received this guy the other day from a restore job. The polish was very conservative so some pitting is pretty evident. I also asked to have new scales made from black paper micarta and the tip reshaped from a round point to a more oblique type.
It's too bad that this razor had such rust on it, since I love the shape. I've not been around much but I've never seen another Cattaraugus like this, or in fact any other razor with a long tang and this kind of shoulderless design that is reminiscent of some of the Swedish Razors (e.g. Tornbloms) that I've seen. One of these in newer condition would be a grail razor for me, I think.
Thanks for looking!

Beautiful razor & a good photo.
Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks...here's another picture that might grab the geometry slightly better.
Seller claimed the razor was c.1920, but I don't know if it's correct at all. Cattaraugus has been around for a while and has a pretty good reputation, but I've never seen the style before, much less information on when it may have been made.
Still, a nice looking razor in my opinion.
