Ontario Cutlery 5/8
I bought this razor for a song on eBay and was pleasantly surprised when I received it. It had some red rust around the pivot; the razor was a little loose in the scales; but the blade was in very good shape. The scales were tortoise and a nick or two in them and a tiny crack by the same pivot.
I unpinned it; used some JB Weld to fill in the pivot hole; sanded the entire razor from 220 grit to 3000 grit; made duplicate scales from tortoise and reprinted it with brass pins and washers. Honing was with the Naniwaa Superstones (1000 for bevel; 5000 & 8000 for pyramid; 12000 for finishing.) I finished up with .5 micron CrOX and Kangaroo Leather stropping. The result was a very scary sharp edge that made me wonder if I needed to any more than a one pass shave.
Great Razor, very inexpensive and one I'll keep.

I've never handled an Ontario that wasn't an amazing shaver. Bravo on a nicely executed resto.
