A gift from my fiancé. A new Dovo!
So my fiancé has been very supportive of my antique store RAD and all of my learning restoration but recently she's been asking if I would ever buy a razor that wasn't $5. I tried to explain that the old ones can look just as good as any new one with a little work.
Fast forward a couple of months and she's asking a lot of really specific questions about my razor tastes. Asking about things that I didn't think she cared about. I was blissfully oblivious to any hidden intent as I just got to talk to someone about this obsession I have without being looked at weird.
Well this last Sunday, I woke up to a nicely wrapped present sitting on the kitchen table next to some breakfast. Inside was a new Dovo Bergischer Lowe razor.
Man, did I make the right choice in women! (and razors!!!)
Anyway, I just had to show it off.

I should also add that it was purchased from Straight Razor Designs. With that, came a professional honing and... wow! I have a lot to learn in the art of honing.
I can get a comfortable edge but nothing to what the true masters can achieve.
Isn't that how it goes. No matter how much you know, there's always more.
And thank you all for the kind comments!

Very nice indeed. I'd tell you to marry her but you already came to that conclusion on your own - highest marks to you. In my case its best that my wife barely tolerates my interest since I would be so out of control if she actually had any support for it. In that way we compliment each other. It looks like you do to but the balance is distributed slightly different. None the less great choices all around. Enjoy!!
