    Default The big haul.

I met up with a guy on craigslist in a bowling alley parking lot (I think this is how most horror movies start) and he had a bunch of razors he wanted to sell. I picked out the ones I thought had value, and here is what I got.

Twin 33's. Mildly ironic, I suppose.

Anchor Razor from Toledo Ohio. Anyone have anything of value to tell me about this guy?

I don't know much about Wester Bros, but I have read they are good shavers. I have no idea what the funny letters on the front of the tang say. Feel free to throw me a bone.

Dubl Duck. The toe is upturned and you can tell it has some honewear issues. I figure waaaaay down the road I would turn it into a shorty. I can't imagine it has much potential value otherwise.

Below is one I passed up on. I call it the Rust Duck.

Should we have a moment of silence for a fallen comrade?

I got all six of the razors for $105. I feel that I didn't do too bad. I'll most likely try my hand at micarta at some point in the future and I figured I would make a set of white and black construction paper micarta scales for the twin 33's.

    Cheers

Great haul, Jonah! That is an especially nice De-Fi. I'm sure much sketchier transactions have taken place on both CL and bowling alley parking lots.

I ended up taking the scales off the Dubl Duck I bought, they were shot anyways. Here are two close ups -

It's a shame that Rust Duck was in such bad shape. I was afraid the slightest gust of wind would make it disappear.

Might any of you know if Dovo used celluloid? I'm pretty sure the De-Fi is celluloid and I try to stay away from the stuff for the fear of cell rot.
