It used to be loads of Irish coming out here for work, but over the last few years I have noticed more and more Welsh.

We've always travelled for work, it's become part of our culture almost. Our young folk will go of to an English speaking country (USA or Australia mostly) for a couple of years. Usually they come back.
My brother did 3 months on a dairy farm in Tasmania before heading to Sydney to find construction work. Wasn't much work goin so he came home.
It's not so much how I fit in with them, rather how they fit with me ;)
I think I confuse them. We have a way to behave up home that doesn't translate. They seem to recoil at someone being friendly or chatty and are not fond of the direct honesty thing. That's landed me in hot water at work a couple of times.
Maybe another option would be a social group (if there isn't one already), as those are designed with member-maintenance and creation in mind. Whereas the forums are created and maintained primarily by the staff
Besides, for my opinion, the other int'l subforums forums exist mainly as sections to give a place for non-English languages. UK still speaks English for the most part ;)
