It seems the picture uploader has changed a little, there seems to be a slightly different format to it. Problem is I can attach a photo but don't seem to be able insert it in-line (it attaches to the post but the Insert in Line and Done buttons don't seem to work).
I tested it on an old picture recently unloaded but it still didn't work. I logged off and back on but no luck. Is this just me or is there a bug?

I had the same issue last week. Seems fine today, though!
I'm having a problem too. Just the last week, every photo I upload ends up much smaller than the original size. Tried everything to no avail.
I had some problems with it also today It did not seem to work then the next thing I see are the pictures I had uploaded. So it did work but not as it did before.
Nope. Still not working. I can upload but not insert inline, so they come out as an 'Attached Image'...

but only with thee attachment tool, not the picture insertion tool.
what changed is a report of security issue which I then fixed as advised.

So if I use the Manage Attachments button and then upload a picture and then upload a file it gets added to the Attachments location at the bottom of the screen but clicking the Insert Inline and Done buttons do nothing. If I then close the window and submit the reply the image is seen as an 'attached' image; not inserted into the body of the post. However, if I then click the little paperclip icon and choose the just uploaded picture from there, it inserts into the msg as normal. The first picture was done via the second method; the other (the toy) was done via the first.

Works in Internet Explorer (seems I don't have Firefox). Why not Google Chrome??

I use google chrome and the attachment button, i.e. the paperclip, not the "manage attachments" which is way below in the editor page. As far as why one works and not the other, I don't really want to figure it out, 90% of the time the answer is incompetent programming.
Carl, same thing happening here. I'm having to use the basic up loader, which isn't the way I've uploaded pic's prior to maybe two weeks ago. Still can load pic's for posting.
gugi, I'm using chrome also, but am having to go the same route as Carl. Not a big deal, just a different than what I was doing before.
Hmmmm, no, no big deal but odd. Oh well, thought I'd report it anyway just in case the 'bug' wasn't know and it could have been remedied...

This is what I normally do:
Create my post (text)
Click Go Advanced at the bottom of the post page
Click Manage Attachments
In the new window Click Add Files
Click Choose file
Navigate to where the file is on my computer and double click it (or click Open)
Click Upload
Click Insert Inline
Click done
I need to ensure my insertion point is at the location I want the picture to go, or else then copy and paste the HTML code
(i.e. [ ATTACH=CONFIG]12345[/ATTACH ]) to where I want the picture. However, these days the Insert Inline and Done buttons don’t work. So after doing the above, I need to close the File Upload Manager and click the little paper clip icon. The picture will be listed there and the HTML code
(i.e. [ ATTACH=CONFIG]12345[/ATTACH ]) is then inserted.
I'm not sue what you mean by the box with four dots.
I'm thinking I'm over thinking all this now and making an issue out of nothing. I do hope I'm not starting to become annoying :shrug:
[EDIT] I get what you mean, you're using the Insert Image button. It worked when I used that and chose Basic Uploader. I'm not sure why I even used to go the other method now. I guess it's problem solved, thanks cudurunner! ;)

If you look at the 'header' you will see how to alter the fonts make them bold etc! If you look to the far right you will see a 'balloon' that if you put the mouse pointer over will say (Wrap [QUOTE] tags around the selected text then next to it on the left is an Icon that says; Insert Video then the next one which is a box with a dot in all four corners says; Insert Image
That's how I've managed to pull it off!
I hope that things can be kept simple for simple people like me! Not everyone is computer savvy! :shrug:
I have to switch to the basic uploader to post images. The other uploader (whatever it's called) stopped working for me sometime last week.
For the record, I'm in Firefox 26 on Windows 7 64 bit.
Edit: Just edited this post, as I originally planned to post an image, but decided against it... yet the image was posted as an attachment. Hmm...
Why don't you get yourself a photobucket account which is free and just copy a paste your image?
If you go through the forum you'll notice a ton of old threads with the images missing because people have done just this. Hosting the images right where the text is hosted has the best chance of insuring they remain together.Quote:

Try the basic uploader I find it works OK. Can you see either of the pictures in your post?
Although I have been responsible for SOTD photos that have "gone walkabout", it was because I had them linked from what was my own domain; when personal finances could no longer allow the $110/year, I had to forgo that particular vanity -- so, too, the linked photos; however, that was on a different shaving forum, so I don't quite feel "their" pain.Quote:

Yes Both Pic did post it almost like one second they're nothing and them boom they appear.
Possibly there were simply still uploading. What was the time difference between uploading and them appearing? Which post was it?
Anyway, I checked out my 'old' method of posting photos using the 'Go Advanced' and 'Manage Attachments' options and it appears it now works fine, so I guess all is fixed.
