Elongated Rectangle with Blue Box in Center Containing Question Mark

Found at the bottom of some members info......

I give up......what does it mean?

I had thought it to be a broken link.

I don't see such a rectangle. Are you talking about the Skype link just under "Blog Entries?"

Affirmative Henry, I have not thought to hold my cursor over the aforementioned rectangle but when I do, I get send a Skype message to....mystery solved, almost. Not sure if I have put Skype on this Mac. All video chats have been done with Facetime.

It must depend on the browser being used. The rectangle I see has no question mark. Instead it says "Send a message via Skype to RandyDance062449" all the time without any cursor movement.

OK, my puter is in peak condition Ed, faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive...... and I was too lazy to confirm the supposition put forward by Henry David...it is indeed the browser....I have been using Safari (where the elongated rectangle occurs) but just switched to Chrome and in Chrome I see what others see......So mystery truly solved (with an unjustified slight to my spiffy IMac).

Used to be icon for the skype status of that member, but skype's server is not serving these icons now so there's the broken image with the note.
I suppose I can disable those altogether if people are bothered by them.

I have no idea, but I assume that if those who have posted their skype name don't find it useful they can always remove it from their settings and it wouldn't show with the rest of the info anymore.

No freaking way I am going to Skype a fellow member (or FaceTime). It is disorienting enough hearing a voice of a fellow member the first time.....terrified me. My social skills have dropped off in recent years and I'm thinking I might just stare at the screen and say something like, what are you doing, then, what are you doing after that.......and so on
