Classifieds Suggestion

I was wondering if someone could move the SOLD items, especially the razors, into the archives section so as not to clutter up the classifieds. When I go in for a quick peek at different items I mainly am looking at the pictures and find it disheartening to see a great photo only to look over and see the word "SOLD" in the price column. Moving the SOLD items to the archive would facilitate quicker browsing & shopping for all visitors.

I agree. One way would be to require all posters to delete their own ads after they are sold.

I noticed you guys did some spring cleaning earlier. That was pretty neat.

that would be great. i don't even visit the classifieds anymore because i hate sifting through the sold items that the owners should be removing.

I understand what their saying, It's very aggravating. You go on the classifieds, looking for a razor, and everything is sold. It's an exercise in futility IMO. I've even found listed razors, still for sale, only to contact the seller to find out I'm too late. I don't know what's worse. I think if it's sold, The seller should go back and delete the add out of courtesy.

Is the 7 day automatic delete time easily adjusted?
If so, maybe a shorter time would be better.

Or even a manual filter that I could select to "hide all sold items" in a category would be nice.

I don't think they do. I've let items sit for weeks just to see when they disappear. Now I just delete them out of courtesy.

as a current seller, i can not even figure out how to modify my ad to lower the price, much less see a delete button.

Ads are not deleted immediately, because we want people to have the chance to make sure they have got what they paid for, and can use the ad as reference. Once the ads are deleted, there is no retrieving them, they're gone forever.

Gotcha, I'll just have to be patient and see if the new system is working. I'll let you know if it isn't. My Clauss just sold today so, I've got a starting point. :P

I'm not saying delete them immediately, but move them to the Buy/Sell/Trade Archive as soon as they are listed as sold. After a week or so there, then they can be deleted.

Three days would drastically reduce clutter, and still allow a reasonable time span to make payment arrangements.

Thanks for taking the time to do that. I know that sort of thing is monotonous and time consuming.

I understand the bother of sold ads between the open ones (though we should be happy that here at least we can see in the category lists they're sold, unlike for example on B&B, were there are no categories and you have to open each ad and sometimes read all the way down several replies to discover the item is sold.)

But what I really wanted to say is that I think it's a pity the ads aren't at all archived. If that is possible, I would very much like to keep all of them in some archive as it used to be. They really provide a wealth of information. Descriptions are often elaborate and accurate and there are detailed pictures with every item. They give good insight in fair going rates and price trends (thus an important source for those who lack experience as pricing discussions in the forum is not done).

Googling for pics and info on a specific type of hone or a particular razor model, very often I get links to SRP ads, mostly to find that to my regret they've already been deleted.

When looking at earlier ads from this month it says:

You do not have permission for this action!

Is it because I'm a n00b? The item is still for sale. This has happened several times. I thought it was a glitch. I just thought I'd mention.
