I hate it. So do many others. But just how many of us want to get rid of it and how many want to keep it. If enough of us hate it maybe the administrators will get rid of it.
However, unfortunately, there is no way I can remove the insipid twitter from my wife's BB.

I don't really care. At first I didn't like it because it was something extra that I wasn't used to, but now I hardly notice it anymore.
I use adblocker ,so its blocked and I do not see it.
As far as usefulness of titter, for now I think its a waste of time.
if there is any usefull information on the tweet a lot of members wont see it after blocking it (myself included)
I like it, I used Twitter before very very little to keep in touch with out of town friends but since it popped up on here I have a ton of new friends on there... It also gives us another fast form of communication, it isn't hard to turn it off, or to just leave it minimized on the screen...
i am with the crowd that hates it. no offense to those that like it. should it not be an option for those that want it? why should we have to download adblock(which does not work on my system). it is annoyance to me.
Why is it that it must be there, following my every movement? If we have to have it for the few who enjoy the new toy, make it an option - one that can be turned on, OR TURNED OFF.

Hate it and for the love of ______ (place name of whatever deity here) please get rid of it. I'm "one of those" who believes that Twit-er and the like are responsible for the downfall of personal interaction skills in society - you know, dealing with real people.:soapbox:

Huge +1... Like has already been said, it's not that big a deal though because the admins have already said they were planning to move it. Whatever they do, I'd like to keep a twitter presence for the forum. It could be a great way to reach new guys and attract members to the forum. Increasing the interest in straight shaving is the key to us having a continued supply of great products for our little obsession... Whatever helps grow the community, I'm on board for! I think the guys deserve a longer trial of it, but whenever i have a look (on the offchance i'm missing out) it seems largely filled with inane drivel. No offence meant to any of you guys. Inane drivel provides a nice background to the forum anyway!
What about those of us who use Twitter, but have no problem with it being moved around or changed so as not to bother those of you who are upset with it.

It's fine. Some folks use it so keep it there. It's not ruining society. People thought that when kids started text messaging. Communication is a wonderfull thing, let them tweet.
take a look at english and grammar grades. the very concept of proper communication has suffered with the so called harmless "texts"(my daughter and my sister-law-law are both english teachers) proper sentence syntax is completely lost in most texts and tweets.Quote:

I think the Twitter thing will detract from overall discussion. People who use Twitter will discuss things on Twitter, and people who don't will not access these discussions. This will end up removing potential valuable input from the non-Twitter users. This is why I believe it should be removed entirely.
I think that's specious. There were multiple tweets with links to threads indicating that those on twitter were using it as a tool to drive conversations on the boards. There was a lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth that was totally unfounded. That's the whole purpose of it... use it as an outreach tool. :rant:
