i have same problem and the issue is not the thank bottom but firewall we we all use. try to shot down firewall and see what happens. it does block edit function too.
Occasionally I also have problems with the thanks button, where I cannot leave a thanks if I am browsing through new posts. But if I go to the forum section it's located in and open the post from there I can. I use Vista and Google Chrome.
For all using Firefox on PC (I'm using Vista) I can also reproduce the 'Thank You' NOT working. A bug indeed. I also have the bug happen with Safari on Mac.
In order to reproduce the bug this is what I do.
I fire up SRP. I go to 'QUICK LINKS' and click on 'NEW POSTS'. I open up whatever post I'm interested in and those THANK YOU buttons do not work with me each and every time.
But not using the quick links/new posts option and just surfing the forum and randomly opening the posts does not seem to give me any problems at all.
Try it out and let me know.
Well I'll be! Thanks guys, that is exactly what happens with me too. Firefox on Fedora 11 linux here.
As a quick fix, what I have been doing is right-clicking the thanks button and opening it in a new tab if I got to the post via the "new posts" link.
James.
excellent! thanks guys and gal!
Well, the thank you button works on my RHEL 5 X64 laptop running Firefox 3.0.16 but it doesn't on my wifes Mac with Safari
Interestingly enough, I right click the thanks button and open it in a new tab. THEN, the thanks button always seems to work in that new tab. It doesn't work until then. And IIRC, each new thread requires this same work-around.
I'm on Safari on my macbook pro, BTW
