umm not sure exactly what you mean
do you mean the scroll bar?
if its hiding txt it should be a bar at the bottom to
(may be your screen settings)
It's a vertical advertisement bar thats on the right site of the screen that cuts off the right size of the top two posts
Is it doing that with all posts ? I only have that problem if there is a large photo posted in the thread. For text only posting the ad is on the right but it doesn't infringe on the text box. I'm running Mozzila Firefox FWIW.
I fought this 'til I was choked up, blue, and spitting. The only fix is to change your display from the 800 x 600 pixel display that shows most eveything in nice large print to the next size up (about 1000 x 800 pixels). I can't read anything now but the ad is off to the side and doesn't interfere with what is too small to read.
Life is not fair.
:banghead:
I haven't experienced the problem you are describing, but I would try a different browser. Some browsers are known to render pages much differently than others. From my experience Firefox is usually a safe bet, and Google Chrome seems to be pretty good on Windoze and Linux, but not as good on Mac. Internet Explorer, and Safari both have problems rendering pages correctly.
My browser isn't giving me trouble with that page. It looks perfect. What browser are you using?
It is not, indeed. The problem is that ideally, we would be using thumbnails instead of arbitrarily large images for attachments (the problem being that an image was used that is wider than the text field).
However, and coming back to life's not being fair, if we implemented thumbnails instead of images, another group of people would get annoyed for some other reason.
Torn between "too little ammo" and "one every minute", I think leaving things as they are is the safest option. Personally, I kill them with adblock, but that is a personal decision.
It would help if we know what browser you are using.
I know that IE6 makes some things on our site look really borked.
Firefoz and IE8 should work.
Try adblock's element hiding helper (add on to adblock) - lots of screen space for the forum on my laptop monitor... :)
In Firefox and Chrome I am getting a side scroll bar when there is an image that goes wide. When that happens the sidebar ad is outsided of the text box at the far right of the viewport. In other words I have to scroll sideways to see the ad, and it doesn't cover any content in the thread.
