I am always hitting "new posts" to refresh the overall forum page. On occasion I go to the specific forums I'm interested in just to make sure I didn't miss one. How do y'all surf the forum ? Inquiring minds want to know. :)

I used to go to the individual forums, but just go to new posts now. I see a far bigger chunk of the forum as a result.
Well, I'm a narcissist, so the first thing I do is search for posts by HNSB to see if there have been any replies.
Then I browse the new posts.
normally i just refresh the main page
going to new posts and forums on occation
I used to click on new posts, until the thanks button complete with bug was introduced. Then I began using the UserCP button so that I could see whether there were any new replies in any of my subscribed threads and forums. After I dumped all my thread subscriptions my browsing habits became somewhat erratic. I find myself following rabbit trails from links in chat or google or custom VB searches. I kept my forum subscriptions though, so generally the first place I look when I go to SRP is the site comments and suggestions forum
oh yeah and I like to make quick runs through the social groups as well as the classifieds although I guess those are technically not the forum
and go from there.
I go to new posts all the time. Occasionally I'll browse by forum if something catches my eye or I'm reading up on a particular topic like honing for example.
It's usually the New Posts for me, unless I'm searching for a specific thread/topic.
Cheers,
Larry
RSS feed in Emacs/Gnus with adaptive scoring. Then Firefox with FfvB to kill everything that looks uninteresting. Afterwards, the new posts button.
New posts clicker here. Sometimes browse the hones and honing sections for tips, and the custom built and restorations section to see the latest eyecandy.
I still click on "New Posts". If I want to thank a post I'll just right click on that post's number and open it in a new tab.
I click the SRP logo first and read all of those posts. Then I use the Quick Links drop down and select "subscribed threads" and check for updates to those posts. Finally, I click the new posts and see what else I may have missed.
i go by the front page mostly. I also check out certain forums that I have an interest in at the moment. Customs & Restorations, the Workshop, Show and Tell are the most frequent
Sometimes I'll go back to a post I've been keeping an eye on or I'll browse to find info I'm looking for if I have a question.
For the most part I stick to certain sections and don't read others unless I'm researching something. The exceptions are if something on the "main" forums page catches my eye or someone links to a thead (which hoggie did for this one).
My usual order
First: User control panel (also narcissistic:))
Second: New posts
Third: Forum topics
Fourth: Lurk on my friends' pages to see what interesting threads they've posted to that I've missed
New posts and them individual forums is my preferred way of surfing SRP
I go to specific forums of my choice but this thread has made me think that I should make more use of the new posts feature so, a few days from now, that may well have changed.
Normally 'New Posts'.
I find good subjects within forums which I may not check frequently and think I see more of the whole.
I use google reader so i can browse quickly thru lots of fora without logging on then, when i see something interesting, i click and read the whole thread :)

In my underw... err new posts
I go to specific forums. I tend to start from the main page by the latest post on those forums.

I usually start with Shave of the Day, with my drool bucket handy, then go to new posts.
Regards,
Mark
I check posts in my subscriptions or PM's then hit the new posts button. And then the classifieds to see if there is anything new there that I can't afford to buy. Witch is almost every thing so I don't know why I torture myself. But I've always window shopped for the most expensive things in life. I even spent about an hour and a half talking to a Rolls Royce dealer one time. Even though I let him know right away that the car was several times more expensive than the condo I lived in he was very nice. Showed me every thing about the cars and gave me a Hard cover brochure and a cup of tea.
It was quite an experience.
:roflmao
Until this thread, I didn't know there was a "new posts" option!
I like it.
That is, after I finally found it after I started looking for it!
I didn't know there was one either, and I had looked for it before. That is how I navigate every other forum I use. Usually that link it right on the menu bar. I had to dig just now to find it. That is what I will use from now on!
Can we get a "New Posts" link in a more conspicuous spot?
I'll usually scan the main page for topics of interest, then check on threads I've contributed to the previous day, then hit my usual forums to see what is going on. If it's slow in my usual spots then I'll hit other places I don't frequent everyday to se what's happening there.
