'thanks' button not working

For some reason when I hit the "thanks" button, it disappears, but the post doesn't get thanked.

Does anyone know what is going on?

edit: It actually seems to work with some posts, but not others.

It only happens when you open a post from the "new posts". If you navigate to it any other way the thanks button will work.
When you have navigated there from "new posts" you can right click the thanks button and open it in a new tab or window and it will work.

ADMINS: Perhaps you could sticky one of the many threads about it? It seems to be something that gives people trouble a lot.
