There are only three new buttons which are circled in blue in the second screenshot
- 'Private messages' - self explanatory.
- 'Calendar' - self explanatory.
- 'Forum Actions' - a menu with three items (only the first if you're not logged in)
- 'Mark forums read' - self explanatory
- 'General Settings' - link to a particular part of the profile settings
- 'Edit Profile' - link to another part of the profile settings
I guess I will just remove that 'Forum Actions' menu since it appears to be very confusing. I may remove the 'private messages' as well since it's one of the other new items, and it's duplicate as it can be accessed the old fashioned way from the notifications dropdown menu.
I am not going to remove the 'Calendar' for now, as it's not that hard to figure out what it does, and if people start putting the various events like local gatherings on it, it could potentially be very useful for new guys to find something local to them, as well as for everybody else to get reminders.
Edit: So, here you go - 12 minutes later and the the only new button on the new layout is 'Calendar'.
Thanks again for all the time and effort being put into this to make it better for us all.
Is there a way you can re-instate the MARK FORUMS READ and place it under the QUICK LINKS as now it's disappeared since you removed the FORUM ACTIONS and it was very handy. Now one always has to go back to the NEW POSTS in order to use the MARK FORUMS READ.
Yes, there is a way :) I have to just figure out how much it'll cost you.... You know, I take away freely, but give only in exchange for something :D
Alright, I put it in quick links. Second position until you fistfight the "who's online" crowd, after that the winner get to pick where their item is on the menu :p
Thanks Ivan for implementing the MFR under Quick Links.
