Just logged on and on the right was a "click here for a Roman Orgy" add! Is that the road we really want to go down? I refer a lot of people to this site and I don't want to be associated with that kind of stuff.

I can assure you that SRP DOES NOT want to be associated with that kind of stuff either. The Dev Team is aware of the issue and working on it. As I'm sure you know, the internet is a constant battle between good and well.. not so good. There are and always be people trying to hack code and find a way to worm their way into our lives. Thank you for bring this to our attention. Ya never know if we noticed the event or not.
If I'm not mistaken, those ads are tailored to the different searches done on your particular computer. Maybe you have a teenage son at home that you need to have a talk with?
Rest assured, this is not the way we are going to go. People have been banned before for linking this sort of thing in their posts.
My family is of Neapolitan and Sicilian decent, so I guess I'm not invited.
Yeah :)
From time to time -and I don't know why- the banners switch to user tailored ads, meaning that google decides what to post in the banner space, based on your browsing behavior. Or rather, based on the browsing being done from your IP address and various other factors.
If you share your computer with other people, like a teenager, you might want to check that out. Needless to say, we try to keep SRP limited to shaving related ads only and we try to get rid of personalized ads as soon as they pop up.
Btw, the personalization is highly dodgy imo.
The martial arts related crap it throws at me has at least some basis, but I assure you that I have no clue where google gets the idea that I would be interested in russian and asian dating sites (which is what I am currently getting).
A couple of months ago it was about viewing arrest warrants and mugshots from criminals in the state of California IIRC.
My view of the home page has no adds; Firefox + the 'Adblock Plus' add-on.
Feeling a little left out, just sayin.....

Lol epic fail by google...again. their ads have the opposite effect
I get ads for the Sportsmans Guide on my work computer. At home I haven't noticed much but at home I'm usually on my tapatalk.
So I'm guessing no one is going to own up to getting the "manhood" enlargement ads? Not that I am, I was just sayin'.....
James.
They can still sell sexual related stuff (I think) but it can't be targeted to someone based on their orientation - IOW, there will be no ads for gay, bi, lesbian, or transgender porn.
Also, even if sex ads are prohibited they need to be reported to be removed - we all know that there are spammers that will break the rules until they get caught.
well, today is more fun. Started with Sportsman's Guide ads. Then got a Vintage Blades ad. Now I'm getting an anti-Verizon ad that was "paid for by communications workers of america". That one has me confused. It's my work computer and I've never searched for or gone to a phone company website on here.
