I'd rather have them highlighted on the front page. One's birthday only comes once a year ya know!
I am for a sub section.. There are 365 days in a year and mutiple people born on each one. Put it in a Sub section and they can virtually recognize each other.... No offense but I get enough of the b-day annoying emails at work.. I dont really want them in my barbershop talk.
I am not a fan of a forum that will have 1 post per day
Wether you like the posts or not, I offer kudos to Nelson for doing it.
I'm not saying that I don't like the posts and am not being anywhere near childish if it was me you were refering to. I was only making a suggestion that I thought may make it a little easier to read the general shave related forum.
I might be a little near childish, but only in the sense that one must become like a little child to enter into the kingdom of heaven Attachment 89606
The general forum is really the catch all place for things that don't go in other places. As the site has expanded and forums have been reorganized the general forum has become of decreasing popularity and sees less activity especially compared to how it once was.
If you took the Birthday Thread and moved it to another subforum, well, you start cluttering up the site with more and more forums and subs and there is more of a tendency for folks to ignore certain forums altogether (which may be a plus for some folks) however I think that is bad for the site as a whole. Besides, who would bother to look at a Birthday forum except people who have the birthday and their friends. The traffic would be minimal.
To my way of thinking we want folks to read as much of the forum as we can get them to read so we try and entice them to maybe read a forum they stay away from by having additional features and fun things.
Besides, just think, when you are dead and gone I will still be mentioning your birthday.
I see your point. I think you're right in thinkin the main people who would look at the birthday thread being only the b-day boys or girls. Point well taken. By the way, thanks for caring enough to recognise peoples b-days. It's something I would have never thought to do.
