Frank,
I have never seen Nortons advertised in Europe, I think it is an American thing.
I got my coticule from: http://www.ardennes-coticule.com/index2.htm. That's the quarry, mr Maurice Celis will answer your questions, ask for kosher (=Jewish)quality coticule. Those are the best (used for ritual Jewish slaughter).
Thuringers you can get from Tony Miller. He gets them from Germany. As you live in Europe you may be getting them cheaper from Germany. I got mine from: http://www.manufactum.de/track_flash...Pr.5112.0.html.
The Thuringer comes with a slurry stone, mr Celis will give you one if you ask. he call them "Cotigura".
The Thuringer is as good as the coticule but cheaper. The Thuringer is a bit slower cutting though but VFM wise I think it is the better one. The coticule I prefer for my Friodur which is harder to hone.
Good luck with it! If you need hepl with German translations let me know.

RE: Resources Forum
Frank, I see Rutlands in the UK sell Nortons although I've never bought anything from them so can't comment from personal experience.

Thanks Stot.
I have used them in the past, and they were ok, if a little pricey :)
