Sometimes I get behind in a certain forum and then I look and there are 25 new topics. Well in an area where I am currently interested I will open them all and look at them. However there are times I don't want to read them all and would just like to highlight them all (and for lack of a better term) mark them all as read. Is there a way to do this?

You know in areas of immediate interest I will read it all, but sometimes I don't want to look because I can't afford any new razors and I don't want to see what I am missing.

AFAIK, there are only two "mark read" functions...

1. in the "Quick Links" menu pulldown there is the "Mark Forums Read" -- this will mark all unread posts as read. It doesn't much matter what you're viewing when you click this... all unread posts get marked read.
2. if you are viewing a forum (eg, "Newbies Corner") you'll find a "Mark This Forum Read" link in the "Forum Tools" pulldown -- as expected, this will mark all posts in the forum you're viewing read (ie, for this example, the Newbies Corner).

I don't know if this helps, but what I do (using the FireFox browser) is get the "New Post" listing... I then scan that list and individually select each of the ones I want to read using "right-click/open link in new tab". This gives me all of the threads I want to read, each loaded in a separate tab. I then mark all of the forums read from the Quick Links... that way any new posts that occur while I'm reading the threads in the tabs will properly record as unread -- if I waited to mark all forums read until I finished looking at all the tabs then posts that occur while I'm reading would get marked as read. If I get distracted (which is often the case) while I'm reading all the tabs, I go back and click "New Posts" again to check if there's anything I want to read that occurred while I was reading the tabs. Note: I've read that the new version of Microsoft's IE browser will have tabbed browsing, but I don't have a copy yet to try... I assume it will work similar to FireFox.
