Hi There,
I'm looking for a Lime shaving soap to replace my T.O.B.S. Lime shaving cream.
I love the scent but go through a tub too quickly. Time for a longer lasting soap puck !!
Any recommendations / observations ?

Hi Bongo,
Man, I am a TOBS junkie. As far as I'm concerned, it gives me about the best lather and best feeling on my face of almost any cream/soaps I have. And I have a crap load. (around 20 varieties now). I've tried just about everyone of them that's worth spending money on.
But here's the thing. Even the creams that cost a lost more than TOBS don't feel as good, smell as good and in some cases, don't make near as good a lather.
So long story short. Use less if you your going through it too fast. I use a bowl most of the time to make lather, cuz I like to use my scuttles, but sometimes a face lather is just quicker and necessary. When face lathering I tend to use too much and it makes a thicker, less voluminous lather than the bowl does, but for speed sake, I don't care.
I have found that a little bit goes a long way. I can get over 4 months out of a single tub of tobs (I don't shave every day though) and with a collection of my size, one tub lasts a very long time. I like variety.
I transgress, I think you should get the tobs. I have some soaps, Mama bears for example, and it takes a lot more work to make a good lather than any TOBS I have.
My opinion is stick with TOBS. I love it.

Col. Conk Lime Glycerin Soap.
Long lasting, provided you like the discipline of making a good lather with glycerin soaps. :D
I am currently using a Truefitt & Hill "west indian limes shaving cream", good stuff. I picked it up from SRD. It's hard to keep from getting too much cream on the brush, but has a good scent & performs well enough for me to order again.
Mikes Natural soaps, has a Lime Shave soap. Can't tell you how the scent is, but he uses EO (sells 1 oz. samples). The shave soap it self is excellent! I have the Cedar & pine in my rotation.
You can't go wrong with either Trumpers or T&H's lime varieties, both smell wonderful. If you don't mind buying a cream it doesn't get any better than Castle Forbes Lime IMO.
Back to the soaps. I don't think anything is going to actually last longer than TOBS - all three T's make hard milled soaps and they are all the same size. BTW, how long does it take you to go through a puck of TOBS? The first puck I bought is nearly 5 years old and is still going strong....
Only lime I have is the Mamma Bears Lime Ice. It has a great lime scent and menthol kick. IMO it's a good summer soap.
For my money (all of $13.50), I unconditionally recommend QED's Fresh Lime. For aroma, ease-in-lathering, and lubrication, it's a winner.
Crabtree and Evelyn west Indian Lime shaving cream is nice for $20, and the soap puck is $12. I have the cream and like the scent, though it doesnt last after you have shaved with it. You are in Perth aren't you, I could post you a blob if you like.
WOW !!
Thanks guys for the feedback :tu .
I'm going to buy a number of your recommendations and test them.
