Hmmmmm, well I must say I never knew y'all could have such willpower....lol. and I must admit that "Braveheart" is my all time favorite movie and has been for years.

"300" was X-cellent and has hit my favored list, but not quite enough to displace "Braveheart".

Dances with Wolves was my favorite until Braveheart came out.....

and really telling my age...."Scarface" with Al pacino was my favorite until "Dances with Wolves" came out....lol.

Just want to add the first time I saw 300 I loved it but I have seen it 2 more times and it doesn't have the staying power of Braveheart... I also love The Quiet Man a real classic... and the title applies here :)

Mornin!

I've been up most of the night.....sigh.....this is going to be a busy week for me. I seem to have a rapidly growing "Custom Basket" concierge type service thing goin on....that I never quite planned on.

And I really do love my Baskets.....because I get to be creative. I think I've come to realize that Men like these baskets because its sorda like one stop shopping.

So since y'all won't discuss AS with me :cry: hows about y'all tell me what kinds of things you would like to see in a "Man Basket" ......what kind of small things does a man like to receive as a special gift. I have just been given the most incredible budget to do 4 bakets outta New York, and the order has come from a member at SRP. :D These baskets are not cheap, so the sky is the limit when thinking up things to put in the basket, be extravagant.....but small....no cars or harley's....:roflmao has to be small enough to fit in a basket ;)

I'll start.......a nice silver engraved flask, a small bottle of ......

Do you have any idea of the approx age and profession of the men receiving these? I'd think men in their 20's will appreciate different things than men in their 50's or 60's... for example, a 20-year old might like a really good manicure set while an older gentleman probably already has one; a Doctor might like different trinkets than those that a truck driver would enjoy. Anyway, some things that come to mind....

• money clip (I'm seconding Rich's vote on that), small fancy pocket knife, metal/ivory toothpick in a case, good manicure set, good lint remover/brush
• fancy cigar/pipe smoker paraphernalia (eg, tools, cases, racks, etc.)
• fancy sports enthusiast paraphernalia (eg, tools, shirts, mugs, etc.)
• fancy travel accessories (eg, "dopp" kit, brush, comb, soap dish, toothbrush holder, etc.)
• Copy of/subscription to GQ, Playboy, Penthouse, etc.
• tickets to a special event (sports, concert, etc.)
• gift certificate to the local car wash
• classy shoehorn, shoe bags, good wooden shoe trees, cedar suit hangers, etc.
• wine of the month or cheese of the month git certificate

Well, I've turned in my preliminary report on the aftershaves so now I guess I can turn my imagination to the gift baskets.

A nice fountain pen, say a Pelican 800 or 600, green, with a good bottle of blue ink.

A pocket watch and fob.

A good quality pen knife.

A sampler (splits) of high quality scotch--Talisker, Dahlwinnie, Lagavoulin, Oban, Laphroaig. Include a pair of good single malt scotch glasses.

I may be easy, but I'm not cheap...

Oh myyyy, Gentlemen!

Your ideas are WON-derful, I can't use any food though....unless of course it was a food basket...;) If you mix soap and food in the same basket, the food ends up tasting like soap....ewwww....

But I LOVE so many of your ideas :y now the only problem is what will I choose, what CAN I choose....lol. I really like the cuff links, money clip, pen knife ( every man needs one of those right! ) .....I do calligraphy work, so I love a good pen, the small sampler of liquor sounds perfect with the matching glasses. MAN y'all are just FULL of ideas.

Of the four baskets one has to go this by the weekend. The Gentlemen is in his forties and his Father has recently passed away, so even though my current waiting list is until the 1st of August, I always move any "Sympathy" type of basket to the front.

The other three baskets are not to ship out until the 1st of August, but I really want something small but classy, to go into each of the baskets...even the one leaving here on Saturday.

I'll post a few pictures when it's done so you can see what you think. Part of the other problem has been finding an appropriate basket/container for a MAN. Its odd ya know, you never realize how little is out there until you really start looking for something with a masculine feel to it.

We took a trip to Charleston this week (hour 45 mi. North to the Corridor G) and I managed to round up a very nice small Tuscany looking trunk, lined inside with a dark rust velour....seemed right manly to me.

Making custom baskets has to be the ALL time, best fun "Treasure Hunt" there is. Maybe I'll take a trip to the Antique shop...."not junk"....who nows what small treasure I might find hiding there. :hmmm:

Fella's please list all the ideas you want regarding the baskets.....I intend to do several for the Holiday Season and believe it not, its time to start lining some of these ideas out.

Anndddd now I have to go cook dinner.....Taquitos anyone!! cha cha cha
