Hi,
I'm looking for a soap/cream to give as a gift to.......myself.
Which one do you think has the best performance between this three?
- TABAC shaving soap stick
- Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving cream in a tub (lavander or rose)
- L'occitane Cade shaving soap
I've picked this three because I can get them for the same price...or thereabouts

All three are actually great. Of the lot, I'd probably pick Tabac. L'occitane Cade would be a very close second and the Taylor stuff I would probably wait until Spring/Summer on. Just my opinion since you asked for it.
After several years of telling myself I would try Tabac, I purchased a shavestick a year and a half or so ago. Since then I've not been without it and I'd say I probably shave more often with Tabac and Mitchell's Wool Fat than anything else.
Well, I have two of the three, Tabac puck and L'Occitane puck. The Tabac is the one I would go for. It makes a tremendous lather easily and smells so old school to me. I don't think I would ever be without it in my rotation.

Look up biotique bio palmyra on amazon.... I have never used a better cream and I own all three u named here... Simply hands down the best... Better than my MWF, stirling soap, MDC, and Mikes natural soap
Any of those three would be a fine choice as they are all great products, but I'd give the edge to Tabac. It makes copious amounts of lather with hardly any effort. That being said, Tabac is not without it's detractors. The two biggest complaints are the somewhat polarizing scent and it's lack of moisturizing qualities.

Good stuff, all of them.
If I had to choose one though, it would be Cade.
Then Tabac as a close second.
For Me IMHO TOBS is 1st on this list. Any and all are fantastic. I own many and love them all. Soaps and creams. I have not used Cade and, Tabac for me, is horrible stuff. As Ryan pointed it is probably the most polarizing Soap My all time least fave. I am the president of the tabac haters club!!!!
I could not obtain any type of quality lather with it. I count moisture as a high priority and this stuff sucked. The scent left me thinking chemical. I am also suffering from PAD(perfume acquisition disorder) and own hundreds between SWMBO and myself. Both of us thought it was horrible.
Ryan is correct though. Many people love the stuff so why not try? It's cheap, try it and decide.
Tabac takes the lead, TOBS second place.
What are your thoughts about PannaCrema? Because there's a tiny chance of some scents being available before New Year or first days of January.

TOBS Classic Soap, unfortunately I had trouble getting a decent lather with it alone and eventually gave up, so I used it with the grapefruit cream and the result was good enough.
TOBS Grapefruit Cream, nice scent, builds a nice lather, but I feel it lacks in the slippery department so I use it to superlather and the soap base gives it the all the slippery it needs.
YMMV of course.

I used L'Occitane Cade a few minutes ago and now sitting relaxing with some coffee and cats, so I'll go with that one, it might change tomorrow!
I vote for the Tabac. I also have T.O.B.S and I like the smell of the rose better than the lavender. Both Tabac and T.O.B.S. will give you an excellant shave. Tabac was my first soap and I still like it the best.

I have Tabac and love it. Smelled the Cade last week and loved that one too. The tub version.
Tabac will always be my favorite soap but the scent of Cade (especially the new puck with the orange label) is intoxicating. I feel the lather from the Tabac is better, but not by much. I think you will be very happy with your tabac stick and try to get the cade in the near future.

Tabac is great, performs like a champ and never disappoints... but Cade scent can be described as simply something you will fall in love right away (at least that was my case)
I still like Tabac's scent a lot, but I find Cade's one to be more relaxing. Still, I preffer Tabac and I would recommend you to get one ,specially if you have hard water. I can't get awesomesauce lather from Cade unless I add a bit of cream (like the Prorasso preshave cream)
Sorry I can't comment on TOBS :( I have yet to put my brush on a puck.

Update:
I've just received the Tabac stick and the first thing that came to mind when I sniffed it was: "I think I have a candle somewhere that smells like this"...
I don't hate it, but I wouldn't classify this scent as masculine.
I left the stick open to aerate it...maybe it will change.
Christmas Day I'll shave with it...we'll see how that goes.
That is always a problem with soaps and that is whether or not you like the scent. Me, I love the scent of Tabac which reminds me of going to the barbers when I was a kid. Cella OTH I don't care for the scent of but both are good performing soaps.

+1 for TABAC. Awesome Shave Soap. Took me a while to get on board with TABAC & Cella.
I just recv'd yet another Merry Christmas to ME box in the mail.
I ran upstairs and lathered all 3...will shave tomorrow morning. HUGE decision...which will I use??
In the box were 3 shaving soaps selected solely on the discussions/recommendations recv'd in this forum:
1. TABAC; Love the scent. Easy to build a dense lather. Can't believe that there are people who don't like this scent...Ahh well, more for me.
2. Cella; Now THIS is what an almond scent is supposed to smell like! It has now formally replaced my D.R. Harris Almond. I was never impressed with the almond scent in the D.R Harris. For me, it is a VERY weak scent. Also a great dense lather...simple to build.
3. D.R. Harris Arlington; Another winner! Great scent and performance.

Glad you went with the TABAC, sorry to hear you have candles that smell like that :)
Actually, if the wife knew there were candles scented like tabac my house would be filled with them. she likes the scent as much as I like the lather.
second on your list should be Floris either eleite or JF
then TOBS
then Cade
but that is all up to you Cade is not a scent I like and it is actually much farther down on my list.
