So I some how managed to ruin my tabac shaving soap (somehow it "magically" became soggy...) and have just ordered a tabac shaving cream to replace it.
I have also just ordered a shaving cream sampler from "queen charlottes soap", and i was wondering if anybody would care to share their knowledge of less common shaving creams that they have found that are made with wet shaving in mind? I want to try a few different creams!

A couple come to mind. Maca Root and Kiss My Face (yes that is the brand name). Burt's Bees is one. An Australian one called Shave is another. And there is one in a can, Aveeno Therapeutic Shaving Cream. Cremo is another. They are all inexpensive and give good results on their own. And do make good additions to uber lathers in combination with other creams and soaps. I use them all. The only one not obtainable in the US is Shave.
Just out of curiosity: why are you looking for "less common" creams? Some common ones are really good, and would be hard to beat by anything, be they common or uncommon. Castle Forbes comes to mind. It may seem a pricey initial investment, but it's really economical in use. If that's too rich for your blood, take a look at St. James of London Cedarwood & Clarysage shaving cream. Pretty cheap and top notch, with a characteristic scent.

Palmolive Menthol (Italian)
TOBS Avocado
Barbon
Figaro
Speick
Nuka Menthol
Godrej Lime
All are inexpensive too............
Palmolive classic,
Godrej lime,
Musgo orange amber,
Maca root,
Trumpers violet,
Truefit and hill lavender.
I am not so keen on Crabtree and Evelyn west Indian lime, great scent but I don't think it lathers as well as the above.
I don't like shave, contrary to the opinion of quite a few people who use it, I think the scent is weird, and I couldn't get a good lather, though in fairness I didn't give it a fair go due to the pong.
Xyphota, knowing your location would help people answer. Some soaps/ creams might be hard to find depending on where you are.
I have three that I will buy again. Mind you I have only been wet shaving @ 9 months. Here are my 3 favorite so far:
C.O. Bigelow/Proraso cream
Pre de Provence soap
Castle Forbes Lime cream.
Mem from Israel and Tet-a-tet from Russia are both good and fairly cheap. I bought mine from eBay, but there are several online vendors that do occasionally have these.
