Normally I do the standard. I scoop out an almond size dollop add it to my brush. Then swirl my brush in my bowel. This seems wasteful to me. Any disadvantage to just swirling my brush in the cream to coat it?

I've never tried adding cream to the brush then swirl. I mostly use soaps but on the occasion I do use cream I drop a dollop in the bowl then swirl with the brush.
As do I. Wonder if putting the wet brush in the cream tub to add the cream would mess it io
That's what I always do. Just dab the brush in he cream, or if using a tube apply directly to the brush or bowl.
None what so ever. I've lived long enough to realize that directions on a product are written to encourage high use resulting in more sales. Do what you feel is right, scoop or brush, large amount or keep working it down to where you're not getting the lather you want. And you might be surprised by how little you might end up needing. lso, consider face lathering as a way of getting minimal use from your cream.
Ok gents thx! Shave on
In order to properly add Creams, one needs a snurdler,is just no other way to do the deed properly.
The snurdler should be made of Buffalo horn with Lignum end cap,The dipping cup should be made of real Ivory.
anything less is a total waste of time:)

I love learning new stuff. Where do u get one?
What if I don't have a local snurdler store? Where could I find one?
Pix, are we staring a snurdler usage again. In the broadest terms a snurdler is any small. flat object the can be used to pick up a small amount of product in the easiest fashion. All else is having the need to satisfy one's aesthetic needs in how it looks and what it is made of. There is great joy in appreciating the simple for its aesthetic qualities.
Yes but that horn one is pretty sweet
Anything will work,even your finger:)
I've seen the snurdler threads here and there, but why don't we see more of these custom snurdlers?? I mean, we obsess and drool over custom brushes, razors, bowls, etc, and yet here I am using plastic shirt-collar stays like some kind of peasant...
Can some1 post the specs? I prob can make one
Everybody's a Jokester
Here's an alternative to the Snurdler if your worried about waste.

After you empty this container pop it open depress the plunger fill it with your favorite cream snap the top back on and pump the perfect amount, great for travel too.
But I must admit a snurdler would be cool just to have - a little eccentric maybe
I just followed the link, now I'm really confused, skin energy? Small scoop devices I can cope with but skin energy, what ever next? I'm going to email them and tell them I have invented an express hydro normalizing agent. To everyone else it will look like a towel but I reckon it should make me a small fortune or independently wealth assertive.
I use a tiny bit of cream applied directly to my tiny brush, the Simpson Wee Scot. Enough for three passes easily in one small dab or half an almond size squeezed onto tip.
Before got the Wee Scot I used to make mountains of unwanted lather, who needs a whole bowl of lather? I don't need to shave the wife, the kids and the dog, just me. A Wee brush full is plenty. I prefer to face lather these days, the bowls and skuttles have long gone.
Snurdler, ha! That one in the picture looks about 3 feet across! How big is it actually? For me I use about 3/8 of a measured teaspoon and my snurdler is, guess what? A 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon. Boring eh?
Personally, I don't think it matters how you do it so long as you get the lather you want. Thanks for the lively thread and a morning chuckle or three.
