Went too the local mall this week and stopped by at The Body Shop to see if they had any shaving soaps or creams for shaving. They seem too have some I was wondering if anyone has picked up a sample of their shaving creams/soaps and tried them?

Are you referring to the Macca Root shaving cream they sell?
I have used the Macca Root and felt it performed well. It was especially easy to lather.
The Maca Root is great stuff. Didn't you get a free sample to try?
Bob
Yeah they had Macca Root in a jar and I think another in a tube forgot to ask if they had free samples maybe tomorrow I will stop by and pick up a sample.
Maca Root + MWF + 5 drops Glycerin + anything else you want to add (optional) = one hell of an Uber Lather.
Picked up a sample of Maca Root and it smells grassy almost like wild flowers that you find in a meadow walking threw the country. If the smell is any precursor I have a feeling that I will have a great shave will let you know how it shaved.
The Maca Root works well, but the scent takes some getting used to.
I like the macca root cream - they also make a post shave cream in the same range which is also good (Should you not mind the smell).
I have used the macca root cream, easy to use and preformed well, however it's the only product that after my final rinse I felt some discomfort and irritation. Like I was sitting in front of a campfire.
The Maca Root cream is, as others have said, a pretty good cream. The only thing to remember is that it is a very thirsty cream, so experiment with your water content when building your lather. There are times I thought it was good to go, but it started drying pretty fast. I added a bit more water (either to the tips of my brush when face lathering or a bit to my mug) and reworked the lather. After that it was fine.
My biggest problem is finding an aftershave that goes well with it, since the scent has some pretty good staying power.
Gotcha Bob my comprehension isn't the best lol
Just had my morning shave with Macca Root cream and I really enjoyed it I used my boar brush and lathered up in a bowl. I had a nice lather in less then 30sec did not find the macca root aroma that strong but mild sent. The shave went great I used my shavette and the blade glided really nice, over all I had a great and my skin still feels smooth even after I used my Aqua Velva aftershave my skin feels smooth not dry. I will be adding the Body Shop Macca Root shaving cream to my shaving kit with a few other products they have.
I like the Arber cologne and aftershave balm and maybe the Arber body wash they come with a nice sent of sandalwood and spices.
I, too, had my shave today using the Maca Root cream and lathered in my Rosenfeld Customs bowl using a Van der Hagen boar brush and Geneva Cutlery Pyramid razor. The lather was built amazingly fast and was overflowing from the top of the bowl.
I finished with a cold water rinse, alum and some Aqua Velva Ice Blue.
BBS and very comfy. :)
