Hey guys
My Sunday morning shave has become somewhat of a ritual for me, I see the wife out the door as she leaves for work, I put the children's tv on, I have a hot shower followed by a straight razor shave. This is how Sunday mornings go for me and it just isn't the same if something is missed.
My problem is that I will be shortly running out of my Taylors of Bond st sandlewood soap.
in short I need recommendations for a highly masculine scented soap to shave with.

Do creams qualify?
If so, Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar is very masculine and it's performs well.
All of the Proraso range smell good to me, Cella is another nice one.
I'm a big fan of Pedal Pushers, their Black Tea is a very dry and not at all sweet scent, and the Oakmoss and Sage has a nice herbal scent. I find Tabac one of the more "masculine" scents. Some of the more sweeter scents I like include Taylor's Almond, eShave Linden and most Sandal woods, again Pedal Pushers has a particularly intense version. Just stay away from their "Amber". You might also try a coconut scent.
Mikes natural soaps are nice with a variety of scents. i like his barbershop scent.
Yea, I'll second the Tabac as being masculine smelling. Coupled with their AS and EDT and you are good to go.

It comes in Soap, Creme (tube) and Stick.
And about as far away from Lilac and Lavender as you can get...

Bay rum. Razorock. Mama bears. SRD. All nice. Then you can get crazy with aftershaves too
Yea, that is as close as I can get to describing it too. Gives a real quality lather also. With it in combo with the AS and EDT is the only time I have had a women come back to get a second whiff after passing by. She even asked what it was.Quote:

Indeed Aramis is a classic that will never go out of style. My father used it and would always run a wetted hand of aramis thru my hair when I was a youngster guess it brings back alot of memories for me.Quote:

I don't think anyone would recommend a shave soap on scent alone which is secondary, as you said, to how well it lathers. I can't stand the almond scent of several Italian soaps but they do lather very well.Quote:

Figured I'd throw a contender into the ring. If you have a little coin, then Czech & Speake 88 is a very good performer and manly scent, otherwise I'd go with Tabac, which to my nose is talc, subtle floral (patchouli) and something akin to musk but not as dense.

I could not recommend Cella or Vitos Red on the basis of a manly scent as both perform well but to my nose smell like they have gone off. Rest assured they haven't. Wish I did like the scent of those two though.
Just to stir the pot some more, Valobra patchouli could be considered a manly scent and is a very good performer when it comes to the lather it can produce.

My picks are: DR Harris Arlington, Stirling Sharp Dressed Man (based on Creed) and any good soap that comes in Bay Rum scent.

Queen Charlotte soap - Green Irish Tweed
Mystic Waters (finicky to lather, but nice scents) - Adirondack Jack
