Musgo Real lavendar

Just picked up a tube of Musgo to try out in the scuttle. Been using Godrej which is a great cream but want to try something else now. Seems to get some great reviews and contains lanolin I believe which is a plus. Any feedback as to personal experience welcomed.

The lather is very good, but the scent is on the 'medicinal' side, not horrible, but I won't be repurchasing.

I have the plain regular scent cream and enjoy it. Easily makes a nice slick and thick lather. I think you will like it.

Mainly a shaving soap user, I do like Musgo Real shaving creams very much.

Very little product is needed, and yet I get a rich, slick, moisturizing lather.
Scents are very pleasant too and the Musgo Real not too expensive.

On the point of the Musgo Real shave soap being an under performer I will have to respectfully disagree. I use it my rotation of soaps/creams and find it does as well as most others. For me it is easy to lather and makes a thick rich slick lather. Always wondered how it got such a bad rep when it was introduced.

In the past verdict were pretty universal and a recent discussion regarding an improved, reformulated soap fizzled out when it was determined that there was no change, or rather improvement.

But as someone who can even get a decent lather out of Williams, I accept the challenge - and wouldn't mind being proven wrong for once.

Sorry, wasn't meant as a challenge for you to have to go out and buy another puck of it. I will say to try swirling your brush in water, I use cold but that should not matter, give it a shake, then another shake over the puck and load the brush like you are mad at it. Add a shake or two of water as you go till you get the load you want. Then bowl or face lather adding a bit of water as you go till you get the lather you want. Hope the second time around is the charm.

Tried my Musgo lavendar paste in a tube last night and was very nice! Lathered well and provided for a slick shave and a very close shave! I real winner in my book as far as I am concerned. Glad I went out on a limb to try it!

After Bob's post, I tried yesterday and today the much maligned Musgo Real shaving soap and concur with Bob's assessment that you can get a fine shave from this product.

Being away from home, I used both times my XL Mühle Silvertip Fibre brush and got a stable, creamy lather with sufficient lubrication for a comfortable, close BBS shave.

As I do like Musgo Real and generally prefer soaps, I had always wanted to try this product but had so far been discouraged by the many negative reviews.
While there was hardly ever a bad word said about Musgo Real shaving creams, there was hardly ever a good word said about their shaving soap.

Admittedly, the Mühle Silvertip Fibre brush makes it very easy to whip up a good lather and this soap might perform differently with softer or harder water, but so far I am pleased.

I am glad I did try this soap and it goes to prove once again that you need to take whatever is (even repeatedly) written on the Internet always with a grain of salt.

I am so glad that it worked for you. I was beginning to be afraid I was the only lunatic who thought the soap worked well. Our city water is soft and I have used boar, various badger and of course synthetic brushes with this soap all to good effect. I agree too that you sometimes have to disregard negative comments on the net about a product and just try it to verify what is what with it.
