Very interesting part here on the soaps needing air and to dry out.
I have found, the soaps I keep in wooden bowls, even with lids which aren't tight fitting, seem to get better over time.
When they come up in the rotation, really when Isay that one the pick of the day, I'll wonder why I haven't used it in weeks..........

I guess this may just explain that. I always leave my soaps on the counter to dry, uncovered, for the day when I use them though. So I'm sure this will also have a positive affect

I find, if you leave soaps uncovered all the time especially if you are rotating soaps the scent starts to decrease over time with most soaps.

This is a soap I would definitely order again, really, at under $15, can't go wrong, and especially with a soap like this that punches way above it's weight class, really, what a surprise from Stirling, this artisan soap maker, given that, it already had two strikes against it usually for me.

    My opinions only of course.....
I really like Stirling Soaps and the Gin&Tonic is one of my favorite scents. I need to order more since I'm out!

I know MDC says to leave the lid off guys ,, but I use it almost exclusively and no adverse effects on the soap or scent and I always put the lid on, now I don't screw it down tight , because I don't the MDC police after me. I haven't tried the new scents , but as long as they make the original and the Fourgere, I,ll be happy till I die. the Rose my wife loves so its hers now. interesting thing on Stirling soaps, ive bought his soaps from the very beginning, and they are quality, but in my opinion like most "artisan" soaps, they are what they are, a good middle of the road product, its the Chevy of soaps. Rod has really tried to always be progressive in new scents and the popular ones he keeps going with. I must have 15 of his offerings from day one till about 6 months ago, and I didn't order it, he sent me a couple of his newer offerings. now on the other hand I get an order every 6 months or so of the "Pig Trail" bar soap for my shower. its is a good body soap, but the scent is what I like, I had told him if he ever decides to quit making it to let me know and I,ll take all available stock.

Phrank, I,m a lather snob myself, I wont shave with anything less than the best, but I fully understand that scent has at least 50% of the experience. Tc

Tonight I wanted to try something different so I broke out the Tabac. I love the glass jar but now that I've been using MDC for a while, the Tabac was a let down. I got at least 15 other soaps including a few Sterling soaps but I'm starting to think I just got too spoiled with the good stuff. Its hard to break out the others but I do now and then. They still never stand even close to the MDC in quality.
I also have some LPL Vegetal Fougere. Another fine container. I love the scent as its a bit stronger that the MDC. I'm going to give leaving it open for a week or two and see if it helps. The lather is just thin no mater what I do with it.

That's what I'm doing with all my LPL soaps, and Rose and Vetyver MdC' soaps, leaving them open to air for a week. Even went so far as to take a pin and push a couple of hole through the top of the MdC's as they are so heavily packed, like a lawn I figure, pops some holes in it to let the air in.....:-)

As far as Tabac is concerned, it seems to be a love or hate it type soap. Personally, I think it's a Tier 1 soap, and laughed when my son, who know's now to look underneath the sink, or in the drawers where I keep the soap, to search out one to try, he picked up Tabac couple of weeks back, came up and said he tried it and loved it...hahaha....I was impressed, just turned 18 and likes Tabac....
