If I recall, Bob, I have Schafmilch sitting on the bottom of the mug. On top? I'm not sure. Either way, Hasslinger's is a good soap, and definitely Second Tier.

Hasslinger, yes, second tier due to the scent (my opinion of course). @Obie, I think you have the Schafmilch on top, judging by the description.

Phrank, THB... $300??? Insane. I never knew! I could tell you a lot about my dealings with THB, around two years ago. I had organized a group buy back then as well, both soaps and aftershave lotions were on order. We exchanged easily a hundred messages. In the end, I was pleased, they are good guys. I believe they've come a long way since then, although I don't own, nor do I plan to order their new products.

Yea, Schafmilch on top going by your description. I don't tier soaps/creams so can't say. For me they only work where I don't mind using them for a 4 pass shave or they are a pos headed for the gash can not good for shaving with.

    Hiya,

Might as well barge in with a few favorites of mine, with top tier meaning best performance coupled with a great scent.

Y'all ever use Ralph Lauren 'Safari' shaving soap? Well, there's something to look for, if you like that frag. There's an EdT to match.

The extinct Old Spice soap is pretty darn good with it being amazingly easy to create a thick luscious later. Faint/medium vintage scent from the originally NOS refill puck in my rotation, which can't be bad.

You know, I am gonna include Colleen because there's nothing unpleasant I can say about her soaps and to me does the best bay rum interpretation with Mr. Krampert a close second.

Well I guess the XPEC scented version before this current one has to be included in my favorites list. Heh, took me 4-5 times to decide I liked the cream's scent and I shore do now. Performs about as well as a top tier soap.

Finally, I tried like crazy to love the C&S #88 soap because of how wonderful the performance is. Finally realized the scent was never gonna work for me.....sigh.

Also on the list is a few Penhaligons creams and CF as well, except for that crazy mushroom scent from the last creation. Any lime or lavender lovers will like the other flavors.

Obie: would you mind sharing with me the sellers of some of the soaps you favor. I tried to find a source for Matin de Cardre but the best I could turn up
was a person selling 1oz samples. I like the bay rum fragrance so I tried to find a seller of Colleen bay rum with no success. Thank You - Tom Du Jardin

Tom it's not hard to order MDC from France, but I think you can get it from here too, I just can't remember who, I just found it cheaper and if you catch some specials you get it for a reduced price, Or if you want let me know and I,ll send you a nice chunk and you can make up your mind if you want it.
