In your fine review, you noted Oleo Shaveworks' soap New City. Actually I have tried it. New City was formerly known as Pella Toscana. I have that. Yes, the soap has a robust and mildly pungent fragrance which quickly settles down. The fragrance conjures up an old house filled with memories.

Well, I just ordered Oleo Shavework's Irving Park and Elle Caballero scents. Irving Park is a street in Chicago. Years ago, way back in the 14th century, I knew a lovely young lady who lived on Irving Park. So I purchased the soap in her memory.
By the way, gentlemen, Oleo Soapworks moves into the First Tier. Thanks for your reviews and thoughts on these soaps.
I order El Caballero and Windy City last night. Thanks for doing all the ground work on these Obie. Cant wait to give them a try. And with this good of a price...
I used the Marlborough cream this morning, classic scent and great performance. It paired well with a cool morning and a warm afternoon.Quote:

Thanks for the kind words. I am always on the lookout for quality shave soaps and creams. Many of the artisan products have been disappointing for me, The Holy Black soaps the latest. Oleo Soapworks is an exception. I really like the stuff. Not only that, but Oleo's soaps I have tried so far are as good as any in the First Tier. That's why I have moved Oleo to the First Tier. Good stuff.
Was going to order some Dr. Harris as I don't have any and haven't tried it out yet. For samples, all I can find are the creams so I figured I just buy a soap puck. I like creams but soaps last so much longer.
So what is the most popular scent when it comes to the Dr. Harris? Being the Gasman, my sniffer don't work to well any more so scents need to be strong for me. But its not like it matters. As when I'm done shaving the scent is gone. Or maybe I cant smell it any longer. Ether way, I'd just like to order the most popular one. All the tiny scents that are in the background of a soap I never notice anyway. Its hell on the nose when playing with gas all day.
So, what is it?
They're all good imo- but my personal favourite is DR Harris Windsor, just smells like a 18/19th century English Gentlemens Club, one of the few that I would classify as distinctly British...wonderful scent and superb performer - they are all 1st Tier soaps in my opinion.Quote:

I concur on Phrank's description of Windsor, and can too recommend either it or Arlington - which is light citrus and fern with notes of lemon, bergamot, orange, neroli, rose and musk. Besides these two, I also have Almond, but this one is too subtle of a scent.
