Back to American made soaps -- don't recall seeing mention of Mike's Natural Soaps, but they are also very high quality. Tallow based.
I have found several nice soaps from Wet Shaving Products in Az. They offer the soaps I either a tallow or vegan base. The aftershaves are quite nice as well.
I love Mikes Natural Orange, Cedarwood and Black Pepper. His soap isn't the slickest or the best latherer but it performs very well and IMO he just nailed it with that scent combo. I love it.
I love Wetshaveobsession but sadly they are gone. They are my all time favorite soap. Glad I still have a few tins.
PAA well they are a bit eh controversial to some but man I love their pumpkin scent. Again like Mikes, not the best latherer or the slickest but certainly really good in both areas. Again that scent gets me.
Tiki, this one is the opposite. I have a tub of SetSail and I don't love the scent but it sure lathers nice. It could be a tad slicker but if I add a few drops of glycerin man its a good performer.
I have tried others, some that people have mentioned and really like and some that haven't been mentioned but for one reason or another I don't like them. Could be performance or scent but most likely my biggest dislike when it comes to soaps, especially artisan soap, its consistency or should I say lack thereof.
I love the way Stirling soaps lather and the scents are really nice. Barrister & Mann's Latha soaps are also great. I live in a place with fairly hard water and they work really well with it. They are cheaper that their "white label" soaps too. The Lathe Lavenda in incredible IMO.
I use Green Mountain Lavender. I also use a barbers shaving cream and I mix in a little Cremo Cream to ad some extra slickness. They all help me shave well. I'd like to find one of those hot lather machines and a towel steamer! Prep is the key to a great shave.
Wholly Kaw is the best new soap I've tried in years.
American shaving soaps... well, for my money there are only two -- one of them is no longer producing his, and the other is only now getting back on her feet. But, wotthehell, eh? I use all of them, regularly.
Note: All of these were EO (Essential Oil), only. Thankfully, what I have left of each will last me well into "the next life".
