Martin De Candre 'Brain Bucket', original scent. This stuff rocks. I've been using Williams too long and read Obie's thread on the first, second,and third tier soaps and creams. When Obie talks shaving I listen, hence this acquisition. This has to be one of the best creams I've ever come across in my long life. Wonderful shaving experience.
There's always those who talk bad about cause of price, but they cant talk bad about the performance,, that stuff makes lather with just a few swirls, and really feels good during a shave. Got to say I wish I had gotten one of the brain bowls myself. Have fun with that. Tc
Did the soap come with the top really looking like brains or did you sculpt it for effect?
I guess I can't avoid it any longer, I'm going to have to put MDC on my wish list.
Well I could have got the less expensive version, but I wanted the bucket, and figured that with the amount of product it will work out to be a good value. Stuff is remarkable. Made a believer out of me.Quote:

Look what showed up in the mail today. I ordered it a week and a half ago, that seems fast.
I bought one of those wood bowls probably 3-4 years ago and only recently actually used it up. Of course I have about 15 soaps.

I am glad you like Martin de Candre experience. It is a superb shave soap. I must admit, the brain bowl has lasted me about four years; I am almost done with it. I do have a full jar, but I will reorder the brain bowl again, because the shave den feels naked without the brain bowl from Martin de Candre. Good stuff.
Just curious, what are these others listed under the shaving soap section? Here's the page.

They seem to be cheaper, which I like, than the soaps I'm use to seeing guys use on here ( Original, Fougere, Unscented). Anyone with experience using these? Are they different scents?

I'd like to hear from dedicated users about the two scents, Fougere and Original before I plop down the cash. I need to try and make an informed decision as to which one might suit my fancy (and nose) better.

Pete the scents are very light, if you gave ever used Castle Forbes lavender, that is fairly strong scented, the scent from aMDC is faint and almost disappears by the time you rinse, so no conflicting with choice of aftershave. TcQuote:

I love the look of that Brain bowl. Unfortunately, I find MdC a tad drying and the scents are not my cup of tea.
