Not to mention how they could likely melt some Willie down and add some spice......Kidding!
Still, both seem to rock! :rofl2:

Well second shave with the Rose, and wow, this stuff is really, really nice.
As far as I'm concerned, the Rose just surpassed the Fougere, and is making a run on the Original.
The Rose scent is deep, wide ranging, earthy yet without the "dirt" smell, if that makes sense, and it has that subtly deep Rose blossom scent, slightly thick with just a hint of the sweetness to provide a high note. It's a complex soap, and they really got this one right, it's a clear winner and one that I hope they don't discontinue.
As always, my opinion only.....;)
Well the rose was one I thought I may not like. Sounds as if that is the one to get!
Maybe next year....Not like I am running out of original anytime soon! :rofl2:
thanks Andrew now I have to get more MDC the rose sounds like what I would like, wish they had it in the brain bowl,,, maybe I,ll get the brain bowl in the original and the rose. seeing as I use MDC almost every day I,ll get to use it Tc
So, since I like the smell of Route du Vetiver, I had to send for the limited edition of MdC' s vetyver. FWIW this is my opinion.
The container I got is constructed out of a very high grade plastic. At first I thought is was glass but snapping my finger against it revealed to me the plastic nature of this new container.
Vetiver is not a smell that appeals to everyone. And to each of us it will appear different.
Vetiver by MdC is a very light and woody odor. There is a hint of grass and leaves and earth. It is not a girly smell, it is a red blooded man's odor. Some may not like it, I do.
The soap is a typically top class MdC creation. I face lathered with a M&F (thanks Jimmy) brush, just wet the tips and did a two pass shave. Came out most pleasant. Even did a great job on my neck leaving no fuzz.
When I put the top back on the container you'd swear the soap had never been touched.
This is not a soap for those whom are indifferent to the smell of vetiver. If you are not sure, don't bother. But if you are, this is heavenly.:beer1:
I love the scent of Vetyver...and
What everyone is saying about the Rose is intriguing...
So...
Both are on their way.
Pete <:-}
I just had my fourth shave with the Vetyver, and from the first opening of the jar, a fresh pour, the air and moisture has really mellowed the fragrance for me and seemed to blend it all together to really present a well balanced and truly stunning scent.
That first "hit" of the smoke has really backed off and entwined itself more with the soap, really suitable winter scent. Tonight it reminded me of that breath of air you get in the winter, with that nitrogen smell from trees, that slightly subtle smokey taste in the air.
Compared to the Original, Fougere and Rose, which are all fantastic soaps to use, but on the lighter side if I can use that expression, the Vetyver is on the other side of the block - deep, robust, wintry, and for me, a definite keeper.
Can only hope they don't discontinue these and leave them as a Limited Edition, the Rose and Vetyver are soaps I'd order again without a doubt.
