I just received a new shaving brush from the folks at Stirling Soap, and am blown away at the super quality of the brush for a very reasonable price! Its got me wondering about their soaps. They have a pretty extensive line-up was wondering what you connoisseurs out there think!
CamMorris, while I'm no connoisseur, I did use Stirling's Soaps for several months and they have some wonderful scents and lather up very nicely, though the lather doesn't go as far as some other soaps I've used (Phoenix's, as an example). Their glide is quite good but their cushion could be better. Overall I'd say they're good to try!
I've enjoyed what I have tried from them. They have a large selection too.
I enjoy sterling. Its not MDC, Its not top tier but its second tier in my opinion. MDC is the best in my opinion but i have a few Sterling soaps and i do enjoy them.
I had Orange Chill. It was a nice scent and worked pretty good but it's not a truly top tier soap. I ended up giving it away.
I used Stirling Sharp Dressed Man this morning. The soap is pretty thirsty, at least with the hard water here in Denver, but it performs nicely once you get enough water into it. The scents are really nice with an incredible variety. If you like menthol and lime you really need to try Margaritas in the Arctic. I really like their after shave lotions too and bath soaps too. I haven't tried the balms.
Their soap samples are REALLY generous so you can try then out for not a lot of money.

I'm a fan. I've got a plethora of Stirling soaps. My favorites are Iced Pineapple and Grapefruit Menthol. But Sharp Dressed Man and Island man are also in the running. I like Tallow soaps, and I think that they produce good product. There was an issue with their lanolin supplier years ago that caused some odd oder problems, but this has been long since cleared up. Their owner is an awesome guy to deal with, and fequently puts some sample in my ordres that I enjoy. Their matching aftershaves also are on my top shelf with their soaps.

Stirling soaps have a generally very good reputation on this site. As mentioned above, the owner especially has a reputation for outstanding customer service.
I recently tried Executive Man but have not yet got it dialed in, as they say. I face lather in the morning and really don't want to take extra time bowl lathering, adding in a lot of water, etc - i really need something that reliably will face lather with a minimum of time and fuss. I am afraid this may not be the soap for me -- I just have not been successful getting a good lather with it.
Sterling soaps can hold a lot of water and really needs to be worked a lot to get that perfect lather with it. And yes, it takes a bit more time but as you can see, a lot of folks like it. For the cost and options of scents its one that most everyone has in there grab box for soap.
They have a lot of bar/bath soaps too. Ive not had much luck with those. Seems that most of those ive tried have menthol or something like it and it gives me a bit of burn. I like my bath soaps to be soft and creamy.
