New french soap coming soon
Hi folks,
This week, some volunteers were asked on the french forum "rasage traditionnel" to test a sample of a new soap with no clue about the smell nor about the producer.
I was one of the volunters and received a sample circa 20 grams. Despite the double enveloppe and three layers of cling film, my mailbox smelled very fruity. I thought about green apple but ... not really.
The sample was unwrapped and put in a ceramic little bowl. The smell was then more caramel or roasted marshmallow.
It is a very soft croap and it gives the lather very easily, like a british shaving cream. The lather is thick, covers the skin and is well protective. I made two passes without any drying effect. Washing the blade, the brush, the bowl nd the sink is easy, no sticky stains, all goes clean. The remaining smell on the skin is less caramel and more fruity, juicy, like chewing gum.
So what ? When enough test reports were published, we got the clue.It is the new Lainess shaving soap, peach smell. The name will probably change to be more acurate with the smell. It contains roasted donkey milk, hence the caramel smell. And of course peach fragrances. It is a joint venture with the soap maker "Le Père Lucien". Probably available end of this year.
Hasta la vista
