I'm going to start a face wash and witch hazel after these soaps. It will probably be better for my oily skin and be fairer to the soap as the ones that I can smell, my wife thinks are too strong.

Ive got only one from WK and it was given to me because of the strong scent. I too dont smell much in life do to my work, but this soap did calm down in scent after awhile. The greasy/buttery feel it has is over the top so i agree with you Vic. But the after the shave skin feel is great. Conditioned and softened. I do enjoy WK soaps and keep wanting to get more, just havent done so. Like someone said, its got everything you want in a shave soap but more than needed.
Ok, I’m in. I just ordered the King of Oud for free with points. I try one new soap each year. This will be it. I like that it sounds oily. I have dry skin so anything super slick should help. Based on what I’m reading, it sounds like one of mine. We’ll see.
The King of Oud arrived today. This soap is going to have to suck for me not to use it based solely on its scent. I always say that the shave test of a soap is the determine factor but I’m going to be giving this a good chance to convince me. The scent is right up my alley.
I want everybody who still has this soap in 6 months to revisit this thread, and give an updated report on the longevity of the scent. Sometimes a manufacturer "goes overboard" because they are planning for warehouse times. Like, make a large batch to get the economy of scale, add lots of "stink" its going to be sitting for a while as they gradually sell it off, and by the end of the supply, the scent is diffused? Just a thought
I still have to use before I can say for sure. But I typically find really aggressive scents shake a lot of that off as they lather. We’ll see.
Finally a worthy contender! So my Kind of Oud arrived over the weekend and I got the chance to use it for the first time today. I gave it every chance to compete head to head with my favorite B&M. On Friday I shaved with B&M Nocturne. The razor was right off the hones. But to be fair, the razor in question (Revisor 7/8) takes a very sharp yet comfortable edge. So, its a great shaving razor that typically is very comfortable to shave with. I shaved with Nocturne, finished with bay rum. Great shave. No irritation, face felt great. Today I moved on the HK. Same razor. The soap whipped up into a lather that was visually appealing. Very dense with fine bubbles, none of that airy stuff that looks like dish soap suds. I lathered up and went at it. The soap was nice and slick and I did my usual three passes. I'd say that it was a tad less protective than my B&M....but just a tad. After the shave there is just a hint of pinch here and there. The post shave was admittedly different as I didn't use bay rum. Considering the scent of the soap and its strength, I was afraid that it would all be overpowering. I chose to go with Barbarry Coast Havana instead. Regardless, the soap perfomed on par with my benchmark and I will be using it again. After its all over with, I think that bay rum would nto be a problem. The scent, while strong during the shave, seemed to rinse away without lingering. If you haven't had a chance to cut this stuff, give it a go.
