Yupper, I have done that. I believe it is called making an uber lather. You could also add a couple of drops of glycerin into the mix if you like.
Bob
Been doing it for some time. My favorite is Williams Mug n Cremo. "Willmo". Slicker than snot on a glass doorknob. Slicker than most soaps I've used, so far.
“Slicker than snot on a glass doorkknob.” :rofl2::rock:
I’m adding that one to my collection.
I started with mixing poraso and Arko.
Now that I have more soaps / creams in collection, I’ve been mixing whatever I have.
Usually it’s Arko and something else.
Definetly slicker tan a single product on its own.
From the Library, a short tutorial accompanied by video on the subject of making an uberlather.
Glen showed me one using MWF, Musgo Real, and a few drops of glycerin. Too bad I lost the tube of Musgo.
I've got a mug of what I call "Franken-soap." It started out as a well-used cake of MWF in a shaving mug. Then I started taking the leftovers scraped out of other soaps and creams I was using up(cuz I can't stand to throw anything away), then smooshing them down around it. It still has a strong base of MWF, and various other additions depending on which way I swirl the hardest lol-works great every time!
I've been plastering globs of softer soaps onto my Arko stick, kind of using the Arko stick as an applicator. When I break through I get a mix of whatever I've been using and Arko. As a rule, the mixed soap, and this has been my experience with other methods and combinations of mixing, seems to somehow add the best qualities of the soaps. Only once when going from Jabonman 'Pepperilla' to Arko that, for the first time ever, I got the famous 'urinal puck' scent from the Arko. I'll be trying that one again soon. Today I had a fantastic shave with Arko/Mike's Lime.
I will give this a try soon as I just picked up a bottle of glycerin today. Seen it at the store and felt I should have some. Who would have thought I find a use for it so quickly.
What does the glycerine do?
Makes water, wetter. It retains water.
You'll notice, it's the key ingredient in any skin/ hand lotion.
I use one drop on wet hands, as a post shave application, followed with a AS of my choice.
I've read that some add a small amount of glycerin to their aftershave. Too much gets sticky. Thayers witch hazel has glycerin but IMO a bit too much. I cut it 50/50 with Dickerson's
Well this is a great idea! Never thought of it.
I'm a bit angry, my wife took it upon herself to throw away my left over castle forbes because it was almost gone!
I had at least 5 shaves left in it.
Could've had myself a great start to a Frankenlather!
Oh well, I'll keep this in mind.
Thanks for the idea!
I know, it was terrible! Had a sinking feeling.
Was saving it for special occasions. Now I'm completely out of everything because my other soaps are gone too.
I've got some samples that will be sent my way tomorrow so no worries. May have to give in to necessity and get some walmart stuff.
Honestly I've been slacking on buying new soap/cream.

Whenever I have a soap or cream almost gone I scrape it into a bowl and put it aside and just keep adding until it’s full and have had pretty decent results with what I call “ Frankensoap ....
Frankensoap. I got to try this. Ve only ran out of a few types but t take soooo long. I will be givng this ubersoap a try tomorrow. Cant wait.
To each their own, but most good soaps don't need any help generating a good lather. Fortunately for me, my principal soap is excellent.
Nonetheless, enjoy whatever you are using.
That's what really draws me into the idea.. It would take a long time, and at some point you would have this strange creation..
"In certain elite shave circles, his Frankensoap was legendary, achieving mythical proportions! Few even knew of its existence, even fewer had experienced its grandeur."
A novel idea, I'm gonna do it for sure!
I too, keep a bowl of Frankensoap. It mainly consists of fruit and spiced type soaps, so it pairs well with any Bay Rum AS. Kind of a tropical fruit market smell, with pineapple, oranges, limes, lemons cinnamon, cloves, ect.
Slick n cushiony....!!
