Well i used the select spring today and was curious does anyone else get a waxy feeling after you have shaved on your face ?

A lot of artisan soap have extra unsaponified fat and waxes in them. It's all YMMV if it is a plus or a minus for you. I'm not a big fan personally

CRSW Select soaps contain lanolin. Lanolin is not a fat, but a type of wax produced by the wooly coat of sheep. Thus, soaps containing lanolin leave a waxy coating on your skin. Some people love lanolin, some people are sensitive to it.

I prefer the performance of CRSW Glide soaps that do not contain lanolin, but which contain a variety of other ingredients to moisturize and nourish the skin:

Stearic Acid, Aloe Vera Juice, Potassium Hydroxide, Kokum Butter, Shea Butter, Tallow, Cocoa Butter, Glycerin, Sunflower Oil, Castor Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Organic Goat Milk, Jojoba Oil, Bentonite, Rice Bran Oil, Fragrance, Vitamin E, Silk Protein, Citric Acid

CRSW soaps are sold only through the artisan's web site, so they do not get the same degree of attention as some other artisans. However, I consider CRSW Glide to be an elite level soap. IMHO, the Select soaps are just slightly below Glide in performance.

I agree with RayClem, and I've been using these excellent soaps for about five years. I do enjoy the feel of lanolin, whether in Mitchell's Wool Fat or CRSW, and also agree that Glide is something special. It holds an abundance of water, and is therefore very slick and perfect for using straights, and as mentioned, is very nourishing for the skin. Highly recommended.

Agree with CrownCork, many artisan soaps are just too ‘overfatted’ - I like MWF and Musgo/Ach Brito which contain lanolin, but I think the extra fat is a matter of degree or taste. I do not like too extra fat in a soap/cream, and prefer cleaner formulations like MdC, Castle Forbes, and the Italian creams. But to each his own.
