Mdc (rose) impression

Hello fella's... Been quite busy the last few weeks.. My Road King got ran over last fall in a Car lot so been searching for a new bike and finally found one.. So now i can get back to one of my favorite things after my wife goes to sleep.. My daily dose of SRP!!
So i have been reluctant to purchase Mdc for varying reasons but have wanted to give it a try.. I was fortunate enough to procure a sample of Mdc Rose from a member here (thank you)...
First off i have about 40 different soaps that range from only in emergency to tier 1 in Obie's soap rankings...
I used the Mdc Rose for 4 shaves before this review with a different razor each time and once with 2 days growth.. I have quite heavy wiskers so just wanted to check after 2 days . First was the fragrance.. Had a pretty strong odor when i first took the top off, had a different Rose smell, almost woody or woodsy per se.. I have a Mama Bear Rose and that smells exactly like a Rose, this kind of artificial but not terrible by any means.. I took just a tiny amount at the tip of my finger and did a bowl lather.. As advertised some water and the brush took only seconds to produce a gorgeous lather.. Took a few shaves with pre-shave oil, no oil and getting what consistency of lather for me to work best but this stuff is ceryainly top tier.. Lather is great, slickness took some testing but when i found my sweet spot its fantastic, protection was also very good.. Post shave would be the only area that i found was not at top level for me.. Not bad by any means but i have a number of soaps that leave my skin in better shape pre post shave lotion or tonic.. This is not a big deal to me.. I also have soaps that dont perform as well as Mdc for the shave but leave my skin better after.. No biggy..
So my impression is that Mdc for me is fantastic!!.. Easily a front runner for the top spot on my list... If i were to take ten catagories for a shave soap/cream and rate each catagory from 0-10 Mdc would be in the 95-96 range..
Am i going to buy a full tub of Mdc now? No im not... With everything that Mdc does to me CF does just as well for half the price.. Everyone says that Mdc is really the best value because how little you need and the amount you get.. CF comes with just under 7 ounces listed (6.8oz) and you only need about a finger nails worth for 4 passes+.. I would never discourage or tell anyone not to buy Mdc but for myself personally ill stick with CF and enjoy the 10-12 shaves of Mdc i have left in the sample i recieved...
