    Default A Palmolive replacement

After shredding my last stick of Palmolive into my bowl i thought i'd better order some more. To my dissapointment i found it's not made anymore Not sure when but from what I gather it's been a while. They always do this to things I really like. Loved the scent and performance. Not to mention the price. Is there something else that is similar?

I'd liked to have tried it, don't know the scent.

But I've used Derby, Arko, and LaToja. I like the performance of all three. I like the mild scent of LaToja best of all. The other two are best described of smelling similar to a urinal cake. Arko being the strongest, in that aspect.

Some like or love it, others are repulsed. Just as I am to Tabac.

How would you describe the scent of Palmolive.?

The Palmolive shave sticks I had used regularly in the past were made in Germany. They were a wonderful product and now I also can't find 'em. They had a fresh, clean slightly masculine scent. Really nice stuff. Yep, its annoying when a favoured product gets canned.

I would call it faintly scented. It does perform well though. Most of the really old brands do, and there are several of them that are quite inexpensive.

I primarily use sticks when travelling (and I have never grated soaps), but for me slightly scented, reasonably priced alternatives are La Toja sticks first, Lea sticks second.

Because of its mineral salts, La Toja has a certain saltiness that may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but it is a very good shaving stick.

I just searched "shaving sticks" on Amazon and was amazed at the number they carry, including Lea, La Tojo, Arko, Taylor, and others. They have a Palmolive cream with palm extract, but no stick unfortunately.

I forgot to mention I do like the Tabac stick. The scent is totally different to the Palmolive, but if you like the Tabac scent it's worth a go. Tabac stick is more costly than the others if memory serves. Not sure if the manufacturer has removed the tallow from their shave sticks.
