A few months back I did some work down around southern Louisiana. I work as a propane service tech for a propane company. Anyway, I was plumbing the house for gas and installing heaters and found out they make soap there. So naturally I asked if they made shave soap. Said they did, but were currently out of it.
Fast forward a couple months and they had some in stock. I ordered some along a couple of bars of their regular washing soap. Now being the kind of guy that uses one soap for everything it was more about helping out a small business made up of a married couple just trying to get by. Anyway, their soap was good and worked OK I guess, I'm no judge of such things.
Anyway, got to say I am in love with their shave soap, unscented makes a lather more like a cream that a foamy wet mess that my prior shave soaps did. I've been using Henry Cavendish himalaya as my go to soap and this have got it beat. I'll admit that I wasn't expecting anything special, just wanted to throw a few dollars to a small business, but got to say I was blown away. There might be better shave soaps out there, but I haven't found them. Now I'm not what you'd call an expert or have tried them all by any means, but I am well pleased the Old Bungalow Soapery.
The listed ingredients are as follows: Sweet almond oil, coconut oil, caster oil, Shea butter, tallow, lard, stearic acid, silk, aloe, honey, sugar, vitamin E, goat milk, coconut milk, glycerin.
The goat milk comes from a small herd they raise. Growing up on a dairy, all I can say is better them than me!
They are on facebook, just search for Old Bungalow Soapery if interested. I'd love to see how they stack up against some other high end shave soaps.
