i use the l'occitane original shaving cream,a/s balm and adt and really like it i,ve used it in turkey in 100 deg heat and also in the uk and never had any probs like drying out, in fact i,m going to get the cade set aswell next time i,m in bluewater, smells good too!!
It's a great balm. Period.
That being said, I prefer to use it following alum and witch hazel, which I do with pretty much any balm.
I have it and like it very much.
Having said this - it's a bit too heavy / greasy for me in FL summer. I prefer to use it during the colder months.

Cool, might be worth investigating. I'd used the very good (although very expensive) Art of Shaving A/S balm last year which was OK. Anyone care to share how it compares with L'Occitane?
I find some of these balms tend to give me an itching sensation after I apply them or later during that day.
The only one that's perfect for always (well, maybe except in really cold weather) is Trumper's Coral Skin Food.
Heh, I do reach for CSF in the summer (over CADE).
Get a CADE sample from the store, if you can. Otherwise you may end up spending $30 or so (afair price) on something you don't like / tolerate

I like this balm very much. It does feel a little greasy at first but it goes away quickly and the fragrance is nice....
My wife got me the balm, the travelling boar brush and soap w/ holder as a present from L'occitane.

I went into a store and walked out with some of their cream and balm (samples). Personally, I'm not a big fan of the scent, but I think it would be a very good balm if you have dry skin, and in winter, because it's really super heavy.
Not for me though.
Cade shaving soap and aftershave balm are one of the best products out there, what really comforts me is the scent , very unique and masculine.
i also use the aftershave ( texture is more like a heavy cream more than a balm) after some rose water /wich hazel mix, not only lasts longer this way also makes it less heavier so it absorbes better.
You can not go wrong.
+1. I use the after shave splash pretty much daily (it's plenty moisturizing) and the balm if I need something "more". And the soap is great.Quote:
