Anyone use Skin Food by George Trumper?
I seem to need something after a shave to moisturize or condition...hoping that this would be good. At least the name sounds right. :)

Works great for me, but isn't cheap.

I love the Coral Skin Food, but if you are looking for something "cheap", give Aloe Vera a try.

I use the lime and think it works great, the coral had an unpleasant odor to me.
I like it. Its not a true "moisturizer", but its a great product. On a really cold, raw day though, I usually need a heavier balm like Proraso pre-post.

Coral skin food is excellent. It has a slightly astringent quality and I enjoy the cooling effect after a shave. True it's not cheap, but then it's GF Trumpers so as expected really. However, a little goes a long way!
Y'all know who makes really good moisturizers is Origins. They, too, are not cheap, but you do get what you pay for. They are all-natural, don't test on animals, and they've got a serious line of men's products (not just the usual add-on to women's products.)
They've got a "Fire Fighter" after shave (yes, it's called that) that smells decent, not too strong, and is high in emollients that keep your skin supple and nice. Winter is hell on skin, what with cold winds and indoor heaters that dry out skin, so I always shift to heavier moisturizers in winter.
By heavier, I mean more oil-based. In fact, before kayaking in winter, I'll put on body oil as moisturizer since it creates a protective oil layer on my skin that keeps me warmer.
My favorite Origins heavy-duty face moisturizer is Nightamins, which is ostensibly a women's nighttime face moisturizer, but it's the best skin food going for my money.
I think I am going to like having you around. Having a women's perspective will help alot.
I love the coral and use it as a preshave and an aftershave. I have coral but I live in florida so winter is not a problem here.
Cheap skin food = Corn Huskers. Some don't like the smell but it does fade quickly. The ingredients are the same: mucho glycerine. Give it a try (you can smell before you buy at your local drug store).
Both the Coral and Lime skin foods are not
particularly moisturizing, but seems to work
alright for me. I doubt I will replace them
when they are gone, though.

+1 On the Cornhuskers. Readily available and works great. Very soothing.

Pure coconut oil is one of the best natural moisturizing products.
Coral skin food smells amazing.
Please do Garry. I've heard it works wonders.
Thanks mate!
you can get coconut oil at a health food store usually. people use it instead of butter and for a million other uses.. stuff is amazing
Cooking grade coconut oil is also great for sauteeing because it doesn't degrade at high temps like olive oil does. Everybody says how healthy olive oil is for you, and it's true for cold or room temp olive oil...just don't use it in a skillet.
I use Skin Food. It is not cheap but only a small amount is needed, so It will last a long time. Skin feels great using this stuff. Another product I use is Skin conditioner from Enchanteonline. I'll will always use it. I even use when I don't shave just to moisturize my face.

It is nice, but seems almost an "in between" product. Not really a moisturizer and no alcohol or even witch hazel kick. ....Soothing though.
So what does the Coral Skin Food smell like? The pink packaging has me worried it might smell like candy / 15 yo teenager's stuff
The Coral Skin Food smells like roses (it's really wonderful stuff!). My 200ml bottle is still one-half full after 8 months of almost daily use, so +1 on the posts above re. a little goes a long way. I add aftershave balm (Art of Shaving or L'Occitane) on top of it once it's dry.
I'm not a fan of the Coral. That said I have the Sandalwood and LOVE that. Might be because I really enjoy the cologne as well though.
