:D Normally the real difference is the clay that is added to the soaps for Glide..... I believe it is spelled Benoite...
But yeah other than that it is all just personal preference...

Bentonite. It's an interesting clay from metamorphic volcanic ash that can absorb enough water to form a gel or slime that must make the lather from soap containing this stuff quite slippery. Whooda thunk it?
Soaps all the way, and tbh my favorite soap at the time is Van Der Hagen soaps. I tried creams before and they just didn't work for me.
Give me cream any day.. Especially CF Lime. but I like soaps too.
Hmmm.... Personally..... I am a frequent user of both soaps and creams and like them both equally well. :)

I've used both and from my perspective the only real difference is in their usability. With creams, it is difficult to not produce a good lathe, while with soaps the quality of the lather is much more dependent on technique.
