No time for the brush what do you do.

I have been playing with this one for years. There is always that time when building a great lather which takes time or you rush it and the lather sucks anyways. Well today I think I found the cure. You name a brush less and I have tried it and even the $$$ ones. Some are OK Baxter will work in a pinch not bad but better with a brush. Aveda not bad. etc. Today I tried something new. Proraso Pre/Post a thin layer rub in well but enough used so you still see it. Then topped with Proraso foam. Let me tell you guys in a rush this is the answer.

Thanks for the advice. I've used the Proraso Cream without a brush before. In a pinch, just wetting the face and rubbing some in works, especially if you have some growth going.

This is not there cream though I have done that to. This is their foam.

I see. I'm glad there are other Proraso products that work better brushless. I'm a big fan of Proraso, and I'd like to put together a brushless travel kit. I'll have to look into your setup.

I have not used canned goo in years except for theirs and this combo kicks

Have you tried Lush Ambrosia? That's my answer. Great for travelling too.

I've been able to get great lather with my shavemac and just some mama bear's soap lathering on the face w/o scuttle or anything if I want to shave faster. Only takes about 1-2 mins to load the brush and build the lather on your face. Mama bear's soap makes a great lather by itself as well. I'm sure many others do fine too.

Yes you can but to really get the benefit of a soap you need to work it longer. And for me if I do not have time I look for something brushless

There was one I tried and for the life of me I can not remember the name but it was great. The down fall that turned me off it was clear. Can not do clear I lose track of where I am at:D

Give me a boar brush, proraso cream, a wet face and thirty seconds and I'm set. Proraso is so tolerant of whatever amount of water you throw at it, so I use it when in a rush and don't want to fuss with proper water/cream ratios.. I exclusively face lather, so I don't know if I'm just more used to it or what, but I can get things going super fast.

Other times if I'm late, I just don't shave.

Props to the Proraso. I find it a very forgiving and easy to use soap; great and quick lather, great feeling. Pre/post is great too.

Have you tried the TAoS cream? It sure lathers without a brush...

This makes sense to me -- I find the pre/post cream to be a great
beard softener.

Yea using a Straight, If I am real late I will hit the SE or DE but rarely

Well Don if I was in such a hurry I didn't have time to mess with a brush I'd rather mess with the brush and use a DE over a straight because that means I'm going to be in a hurry and hurry and straight usually doesn't make a good recipe.

This is something that I've kicked around as well. I haven't tried the Proraso foam, but will order a can at first opportunity. I've not had any success with any other brushless options. If I'm in a rush, I usually do a quick face-lather and shave with a Mach3.

See the straight is not an issue I will grab a Henckell 3/8 with a wicked edge a go through as fast as I could with a DE or SE now if I do not fell like stroping I will grab a DE or SE
