I tried out some Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Herbal Shaving Soap that I just received from Ray's on-line shop. I'm a real fan of Ray's classicshaving soap, but this Taylor of Old Bond St. soap is in a class by itself. I was amazed how quickly it made such a rich smooth lather. This one cake should last for ages. Anyone tried this stuff? Comments?

Hi Hal ...I got the Taylor's Lavendar Shave Cream in a tub - same reaction. The stuff is exquisite! Very smooth, rich lather in a hurry, lasted a very long time, and a tiny bit went a LOOOOOONG way! Just swirling the tips of the brush a little bit made faces full of wonderfully smelling lather!

I just tried some of the taylor shave cream this morning for thr first time. I am vary impressed at how much lather you get with so little cream. I just used a liitle about the size of a dime and had enough lather for two shaves plus.

Agreed, sometimes I go into the bathroom and sniff my Taylor Almond cream when I can't afford a real vacation.
I'm probably the only one in the world, but I was disappointed in the lavender in a tub. Maybe my nose just misclassifies the smell they're trying to get across as lavender, but somehow the combination of the lavender and my brush makes a smell that my nose tells me is something like a wet dog. I have several different soaps, and this is the only one that does that -- it's not that my brush has an odor.
My hands-down favorite soap is the Taylor sandalwood hard soap. Now that's quality!

I have used Crabtree and Evelyn cream for years. I live in England and there is an outlet shop nearby. I stock up when they put an offer on the cream. The sandlewood is good but the almond is better. I've also used Taylor's and it is richer than Crabtrees, but I woldn't say better. This said just yesterday I treated myself to a tub of Geo,F.Trumpers sandlewood cream. This cream is in a different league its rich, creamy, well perfumed and leaves your face feeling great. You don't need much to fill the brush. You get a bit more in the tub than the other soap suppliers so the price looks high, but it isn't. Now they should open an outlet store near me. Check out www.mankind.co.uk if you want to get a feel of the rang of stuff on offer nowdays. They sell Trumpers creams as well as the soaps. Good stuff.
The Taylor of old Bond Street Sandalwood soap is the best soap I've used and not by just a little bit, either. But I've got to say that the Vulfix Lavender cream is the most remarkable stuff I've ever brushed on my face. :)
Cremo works well but..... it sure isn't anything like the Vulfix Lavender.
i love the taylor lavendar. i have half a tube of the mr. taylors shave cream by taylors and some trumper violet if u wanna trade
