Wet Shaving Products

I have been trying Roberts wet shaving products just to see if the claim of a closer shave for my tree trunks is possible and I also wanted to try his soap products. Here is what I am finding. The soap is ok but I think the activator and cutting balm work with other soaps as well as the soaps that Roberts pushes. I tried the shaving cloth, but went back to my brush. What I did do is try squeezing the soap out of my brush and applying the soap to my face which gave me the wet soap. I am also getting a much closer shave. I would recommend the activator and cutting balm--go on you tube and look at the video's and follow the examples there, just use the brush instead of the cloth.

The only thing that is a bit problematic, is that the activator and cutting balm are both pricy.

Anyone else tried these products?

WTF? Is this for real? Method shaving, triad pastes, primer slag, variable velocity media?

Why don't you just buy some soap from TGQ, Mama Bear's, SRD, Vintage Blades, etc., etc., etc... :thinking:

There are some really great soaps out there now. Check the review section and see what you might come up with.

it is not about the soap. I have been using Casswell Massey & Mr. Taylor soap for years. I was just trying to experiment with some other products to see if I could get a closer shave. I have use the Wet Shaving activator and cutting balm with all my other soaps and it works just as well with them.
