Trumper's Rose (old formulation)

Through some shady South Side of Chicago connections I was able to obtain a brandy new bowl of Trumper's Rose with the coveted "shave & toilet soap base" ingredients. Ahhh....

As has been mentioned, the puck is a bit smaller than most at 80grams, but if you're penny pinching, then perhaps the search for boutique tallow soaps isn't your game to begin with....

Had a couple shaves with this soap so far. Lathers easily, dense lather, slick, cushioney, and also seems to provide for a nice close shave as well. Really, this seems to be a quite well balanced soap.

The rose smell great! Not overly powerful once lathered up, but fantastically refreshing and bright.

No drawbacks that I can see, other than the fact that they don't make this version any longer. I certainly would be interested to see if the new castrated...er....I mean non-tallow version performs as well,a s this soap is a top-shelf product without a doubt.
